I wonder if reviewers are gonna judge the character roster as harsh as I have. Obviously only 16 fighters is weak, but an even bigger problem is who those fighters actually are. 2 Pikachus and 2 Mewtwos is just no, a few types were completely shafted while others got multiples i.e. 4 fire types, and most of the playable characters are bipedal human-likes when there are far more different body types in Pokemon. All in all it does a pretty bad job representing the franchise as a whole, but the question is whether reviewers will care or even notice.

I think the number of fighters and the inclusion of 2 Pikachus and 2 Mewtwos will definitely be acknowledged, and that's what I don't think that the game will be 80+ Metascore. Even if the gameplay and graphics look solid, this will deduct a few points for the game.

Hmmm. Based on the early reviews coming in it looks like Pokken will come in just under 80 on Meta.

Seems like most of the negativity is coming from the limited roster. This could be fixed with DLC though right?

Only if it's free of course. They said they had no dlc plans though, but that was also said for Smash.
