Thought this was a rumor about vulkan being on the NX, which would mean Android & PC ports being possible... oh well.

Honestly it makes sense... and I really hope that is true.

Would be nice if nintendo also ported handheld games, to android... and allowed mobile phone owners to buy nintendo games that way.



Vulkan isn't something new. Consoles already had low-level graphics APIs, it's the whole reason for their existence.

Nintendo will not use the Vulkan API for the NX, it will have it's own in-house gfx API ...

Yeah but.. sony use their own api (I think?) and MS use DX12(?) (which can work on windows).

If nintendo use vulkan, instead of makeing their own api, it means they can easily port things to android, and many programmers that already make android apps, will easily be able to have them also running on the NX.

Why? Maybe Nintendo want to also profit from games selling on Smart phones and tablets (not just the NX).

wrong, vulkan is the new version of the api.

then why would they join the khronos team a year before the NX? just to be there without using the tech?
