Forums - Gaming - Do you have to be subscribed to PS plus to play The Division

Hi people, I'm not really a big online gamer hence the reason Im not subscribed to PS plus. However I really like the look of The Division and was wondering if anybody who has played the game can tell me if there is any substantial single player elements. If it is mainly online I will prob give it a miss as I would have to subscribe to PS plus which is an additional cost as well as the game. Thanks in advance.

Yep you'll need online. Its just not a single player game in any way unfortunately for you

That's a shame, I will get PS plus eventually when I'm a bit more flush and maybe try The Division later down the line. Thank you for getting back to me buddy.

Too bad, I though it was going to be like need for speed. A game that only require internet connection but not ps plus.

It's pretty much like destiny. Yeah you can attempt it solo, but it's pushing the social aspect so you'll see people all the time, and prompts for matchmaking. And in reality it's meant to be played in coop.

I played the first 4-5 hours solo and had a blast so far though.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

how so? so people get in and out randomly while you play solo?  there is no way to play solo all the time?

A game that requires online cant be that good as you may think OP

Well, i guess you can go solo the whole time now that I think about it, but the game is certainly designed for coop.

There is a segment of the Map that is a multiplayer zone, so if you enter it you'll be running into other players doing there thing. It's a lot harder in the multiplayer zone. Even when I was in there without playing solo I usually just played within site of  another group just so I wouldn't get outnumbered and overcome by the AI.

Multiplayer zone aside the story missions are very similar to destiny. No respawn zones against bosses, with waves of enemies that can outnumber you became a bit frustrating by myself. You end up just joining a team because it's so easy to do, and the missions are definitely more fun that way.

Sure it's an unnecessary ball ache but that's a but of a weird statement. If TLOU required Internet it'd still be phenomenal

Unless you were joking, then my bad..
