toon and regular are the same tho... this isn't smash.

They really aren't. One is a highly expressive character with quite a bit of charm and personality to him despite never talking, while the other is a bland silent protagonist with nothing to distinguish him from your average FPS protagonist except for his green hat. They carry the same name and wield the same Master Sword, but that is where the similarities end.

Calling standard Link and WW Link the same would be like calling Big Boss and Solid Snake the same person. It'd be ridiculous, and no one running a serious contest would do something like that.

=p

But yeah, the characters are distinguishable enough in my eyes that I'm not willing to attribute Toon Link's enjoyable character to the entirety of Link as a whole.
