That trend of explosion in spending can be traced right back to "Citizens United" ruling that hoping Supreme Court over turns before 2020. If you want to know who is most likely to make that happen, just see how much SuperPac money they use in their campaign (hint: the more money, the less likely).

Also, I am not sure a campaign has wasted more money than the Jeb Bush one this year. I want to say he spent something like $3000 per vote in Iowa and never performed to expectations.

Wow quite suprised by Jeb Bush what a waste of money. How is it even possible when he never really shined. Also suprise by Donald Trump so many pepole talk about him and so far just 27 mio were spent. He doesn't seem to have a lot of financial support.

Trump doesn't need it. He has the media .

Damn. I hate to say it, but look at the BERN. Fully funded by donations, from people who believe in him. Looks like Drumpf isn't entirely self funded either, like he claims...not that you should EVER expect The Donald to be consistently truthful :P

lol I'm gald the Republican Establishment wasted their money, it's fun to see them try to quickly switch to Rubio in hopes of beating Trump and Cruz.

A super-pac is like a company... right?

How have none at all donated to the Colonel? Do they all hate him, or has he just refused any donations from them?

Super PACs are "political action committees". Essentially people heavily involved in politics that have millions of dollars to throw around. The Koch brothers are some of the most notable.

Trump's "self" funding is is only a loan that will be paid back from donations. So really he's being fully funded by donations like everyone else. Though if he didn't put up that wad of his own cash he may not be in the position he's in now.

These graphs are donations right, not spending?

An independent group that raises money to be spent on behalf of a political figure.  Usually has a lot of corporations and private interests as donors.  They can't simply give the money to the candidate but they can buy ads for them and support them from the outside.  One of the pro-Bush Super PACs, for example, got $10M from an investment firm in New York.

Now you see why people want trump so bad
