LOL.... no, it didn't cost anywhere near $300 to get the full experience.

It's amazing how when a small ball of bullsh about a game gets rolling, it can turn into an avalanche on the Internet.

I'm itching to see if and how you'll defend the fucking trainwreck marketing by Take-Two and Turtle Rock.

The marketing was abysmal and there is no way to defend it. However, doesn't make hyperbole about DLC any less incorrect. Also I think you mean 2K, not Take-Two. I don't blame Turtle Rock, this is the typical cosmetic DLC bloated 2K game.

How do you know that? That's only what you think/believe but the reality once you play it might be something completely different. Personally, I'm going to be trying to uncover more of the lore, the languages and I'll be seeking out blueprints to improve my equipment.

That's only what I beleive based on what I've been watching. Despite all the neat little gizmos and upgrades you'll get (which is what I can get in Starbound besides temp control or reouting power to a laser), you're still trying to explore places and get to the centre of the universe, kill some aliens and creatures along with trading, the basics in games like Minecraft, Terraria and Starbound, all of which feature exploration, trading, tagging of their own varities, upgrades to your equipment, in Starbound you need different suits to be upgraded to withstand different atmospheres on different self generated planets, otherwise you're toast, same with the different self generated creatures that inhabit each planet, hell I can't even go on an asteroid or moon planet without a space suit in order to mine the type of element there to power my ship.

Languages would likely be a unique aspect to NMS but even then Starbound has different races that already speak in different tongue, all of which could be hostile or friendly, to trade or to kill. The more I learn about NMS, the more I see it as a game that's using pre existing ideas from other games but at the same time playing it safe and going with an artistic approach to how you explore and what your goals will be.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Then don't buy it. It's not for you.

I just replied to someone else saying I still intend to buy it. You don't have to tell me it's not a game for me just because I find it lacking in some areas that other games have covered, I am still perfectly allowed to judge it based on what it offers.

Yeah it's kind of funny that he seems almost offended that you would dare form an opinion about a game that's not out yet, but at the same time he can flat out tell you not to buy the game, that it isn't for you. LOL.

Seems like it very much is your type of game. I am going to buy it as well, but I share some of your same worries.

No offence meant, fella, it's just that you seem to have lots of misgivings about the game. You might be surprised but at least wait for reviews or reactions from fans before you take the risk. There's absolutely nothing wrong with not liking certain games that other like.

I gathered this after a while of watching only him posting videos and then when something so much as ill is spkoen of the game or it not being as great as ever, it's somehow me not knowing anything at all despite me going well out of my way the past few years to keep watching vids and reading up on the game as well as watching other games grow and what they offer. Two years ago Starbound basically told me more or less what I could do via trailers and the like, over those two years more and more content has been added as well as mechanics, suddenly we're getting some more burtsts of NMS info and most of it is lining up to what Starbound and other games have already touched upon.

I know what 'm reading and learning each day, there is no such thing as someone who has a amsters degree in NMS knowledge, even by linking videos, doesn't stop me from going elswhere and learning what I wish to know about a game I intwend to buy, apparently pointing out a few flaws or lacking options means I'm not supposed to buy the game, I don't see how having less options and mechanics is objectively better than a game that offers more.

It's definitely my type of game for sure as I still play Minecraft and Starbound, constantly exploring and doing what I do just like how I'll grab NMS at some point and do what I do, but I know I;m allowed to point out it's shortcomings and places it could do better.

None taken, I have doubts about a lot of games as time goes on, especially for Starbound, I don't think that game is gods gift to man and I'm well aware it has it's own set of flaws (self generated planets really just being a dime a dozen in general for both titles). I can't say I'm as easily thrilled or enticed by a game that plays it quite safe in an environment where other games took that first stride and laid down the foundations to what some games end up using. I'm still going to grab the game like I said but I'm not completely over the moon to willfully ignore cracks and flaws, even before release and with the information having been drip fed to us for years now. Don't forget that first impressions do actually count for most of what goes on in this world of ours, the images we see tell us a thousand things about something and the details we know allow us to form our own opinions and views and in turn we make decisions absed on what we've seen and heard which was why after some years that I;ve begun to notice what it's offering and what it isn't, I can't help but point out that based on what I've seen and heard.

Can't say I need to have reactions from "fans" though, those never really matter or go into how I buy my games in terms of input, if anything I'll be looking more towards performance and bench tests to see how it holds up and I know I'll have to wait for that for a while since the PC side of things hasn't had a peep made for years (which gives me a good reason to also have doubts on that end). You're right, there is nothing wrong with a lot liking certain games that others like but I can still point out how I prefer being able to leave my mark on planets and colonize them, when another game allows for that I will proceeed to point that out.

I'm still waiting to find out all the things Hello Games are holding back but I'll be doing that whilst playing. I'm already sold on the simple idea of a universe that feels infinite, anything else is just an added bonus to me.
