Forums - Gaming - Will No Man's Sky be this year's Evolve?

They're not comparable at all and operate on differently because one is dependant on a big multiplayer community.

If you're asking if No Man's Land will fall short of the hype, then sure. I see that as likely from what I've seen on the actual fame, but it won't be forgotten.

Evolve costed like 300dollars to get full experience. Was a DLC nightmare on a market (co-op multiplayer) where the price of admission is usually cheap.

All I know is I had no interest in Evolve and even when I saw it recently for £7.99 I didn't bite. NMS is an absolute must buy for me. I absolutely adore open world games and open universe games even more so. It just looks incredible. Even if playability isn't amazing I think I'll still adore it just exploring and viewing the graphics of the different worlds. I don't know how mainstream it will be but it has been publicized hugely. I would guess it will be a hit of about mid-level. It's a new IP so it doesn't have a foundation of support.

I do remember it getting some "Game of E3" awards.

Now that I think about it, what game doesn't get those?

Knack

Signature goes here!

No I see Fable as the next Evolve... not only are they similar in gameplay it also has very little buzz.

NMS will sell very well first week and as long as its positive, will sell over 1m.... on PS4 alone. It will sell very well on PC.

Well, the main reason Evolve flopped was due to so much content being locked behind DLC and such, and by the looks of it No Man's Sky isn't really doing that, so no.

I don't see the direct connection between the two but yes i think No Man's Sky will be forgotten pretty quickly. I've read a few previews and there are major concerns about the fun factor(read boring) and lack of variation of the planets. The game's scale is impressive sure, but that alone doesn't make for a very interesting experience. I think it will end up being a niche title.

ONE preview from ONE person said that but the rest were very good. Check out my No Man's Sky preview thread and watch all of the videos I've provided. And not much variety? *SNAP*

The PS5 Exists.

Looking at how much views the YT videos have, I'd say it's gonna be popular. I'm skeptical about the legs though, I think it might become boring after you've visited a certain number of planets and start seeing the same design patterns over and over again.

Why do people keep saying this? Have you seen ALL the footage? I've seen dozens of different environments that look completely different from each other. The only unifying factor is the colour pallet they use, and even then it's often on the extreme scale or much more subtle.

Some people are not going to like the game, some people will. I think the whole you need to put in to get stuff out (very old school mechanics) is going to put some people off... but i think you are spot on GG... I think its the subtle stuff thats going to make this game... push people forward, it's going to be more about the finding new things and progressing to bigger better weapons/ships..
