Im not talking about the recent discontinued Vita TV in Japan but the handheld.With the 3DS' successor to likely be out by end of next year when will Vita be no more?

I mean if we mean discontinued Worldwide we are awhile away, its still a solid system in Japan with a few good years left. Im thinking 2018 at the very earliest if it quickly goes downhill.

Depending on region. Japan for instance won't die for at least another 3-4 years. It has a ton of support.
Europe I can see holding out for another 2-3 years. In the US I wouldn't be surprised to see it discontinued any time soon.

It would be kind funny if due to the similar power between them the NX release actually increases the Vita support since publishers think it's easy enough to port between the two. The Vita with it's new found support surges up the charts and actually competes with the NX.

...You mean the one that said it would be 100 times more powerful than the Vita? I know I'll be alone in this, but something about that rumor doesn't sit right with me...

You actually believe that? You actually believe that Nintendo would launch a handheld that's only on par the Vita, but has to work with two 720p screens instead of a single 544p screen? Come on, dude. I didn't even take that one seriously. Whoever made that rumor up knows less than nothing about hardware. You need way more than "power a bit over the vita" to make graphics on two 720p screens look presentable.

Vita means life

That means it will live on forever >:)

...in my heart at least.

It'll probably be discontinued in 4 years or so thanks to Japan supporting it.

Well considering the Vita is still outselling the Wii U and Sony isn't really throwing much at it for aaa games I would say since the PSP is just going to lose access to the store now, and since its a remote play device I would think as long as the PS4 is around so will the Vita, I would say 2020
