Yes, then they agree that with a very similar amount of improvements, one is better than the other. Wich means, they think one was better than the other to begging with. That doesnt mean is true (i do agree is true though) but is what critics think. To say that the score of this game is 5 points lower because is a huge disspoinment of a remaster jsut because the lightining of the other looked cooler even when the texture rework of this one is waaaay better, it sounds just an excuse for me.

But a 85 for a 10 year remaster is a great score, it means is a very good remaster of a game that stills holds, even if is a bit outdated here and there.

I think it is a good score, and it's deserved. It's fair to say that the result feels better on WWHD though, even if the improvements are pretty much the same. It'd take a long time to make a perfect TPHD, and I think that's what we must acknowledge when we play this game. WW is, and will be a timeless game. TP, on the other hand, is not. I'll reserve my final judgemente for when I play the game, and see how it looks in my screen. But, as I said, almost everybody pointed out that in some areas is a great improvement over the original, and in other areas it keeps the same flaws. Pretty much what I've been expecting.

85 on Meta.

About what I expected, glad to see the game doing relatively well.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

10 points lower than the original. For comparision sake, The Wind Waker HD is 90 on Metacritic, 5 points higher than TPHD.

Yeah, I agree with the score. I think WW is a better game, and WWHD is a better remaster, but TPHD is not such a bad remaster as some people claim it is imo. So, yeah, it's fair that TPHD scored lower. I didn't expect more than this, actually.

I also think because WE have art style aged much better than TP art style, that is one of reasons why WW HD looks better than TP HD, and that also definitely affected on scores.

Yes that is not what I wanted to say, I mean they both have the same difficulty modes unlocked (and about the same amount of unlocked extra content), I expressed myself badly.
And exactly, they put the work where the work must be, on the textures, and they improved them as much (or more) as WW improved his lighting. And most reviews point that the game looks surprisingly good for a remaster, it just doesnt have the brilliant artstyle of WW.

We have 2 remasters with very similar level of improvements in all aspects, yet one is 5 points lower. Ther is no excuse, a cooler looking lighting system is not 5 points, critics think WWHD is better, thats it, and they still give TPHD a great score for a remaster because is still a great game.

The problem is WWHD benefit itself with a timeless art style, while TP art style looks ugly nowadays. That's unsolvable. Maybe with more time to make TPHD, but time isn't what they have, and still they managed to do a competent remaster, with a nice texture rework. For what I've read, it could have been better with some more graphical changes here and there, but the vast majority of them point that there are some impressive work done (boss battles are the hightlight), but it could never look better than WW.

Totally agree, so even TP got HD treatment still doesn't look impressive, while WW HD looks very impressive even for modern standards.

TP HD is solid remaster, but I really don't think they could do much better with that art style that aged terribly.

They could do better in some areas, I think, but in general I think it's a competent remaster, and it's obviously harder to make TPHD looks great than WW. It's a matter of time, resources and how much money Nintendo was willing to pay. But I think, even when it could be better, it's still a worthy adittion. I'm keeping my higher standards for Zelda U. No mercy with it xDDDDDD.

The artstyle is a fundamental part of a game, and WW always had a better one, wich is one of the several reasons why it was a better game to beggin with, now is just more obvious than ever because HD makes every ugly corner way more easy to see. I do think TP looks surprisingly beautiful now that is so clear, but it has never been specially pretty and thats a flaw the game always had.

I always thought that Skyward Sword was considered the worst 3D Zelda by fans?

Mostly by motion control haters. Both are on a similar level, I do think TP has better dungeons though.

It depends on the fan :P. There's not exactly a general consensus in Zelda fandom, I truly think Skyward Sword is one of the best Zelda games. Some people didn't like it because of motion controls and the abscence of an "open world", but I think that motion controls gave something different to the combat, more engagint, and the division of the world in different areas made the world feel less empty. Now, with the WiiU I think they could manage to make a big and dense open world. But I was thinking on Wii limitations, obviously.

Pretty good and around what I would expect!
