Yeah good point.  But unless they start charging they shouldn't be put off.  Like if I game only on pc and Microsoft release quantum break on Windows 10 and I want that game.  Am I really going to let the name of the store it's sold on stop me buying it?

It's like ,  oh look quantum break is gamestop exclusive,  I refuse to buy it.

Depends. Do they not like the windows 10 store due to the name, or is it due to all the many, many, many restrictions of it. Plus the past does matter.

Some people may not want to buy a game at gamestop because they are tired of their policies. I doubt anyone is avoiding something based SIMPLY on the title. There is always a reason attached to it.

I know that.  I just used QB as an example.  But what are the issues?  If you buy a game on the Microsoft store will it not work and will you not have fun?

I will be playing it on xbox one so I won't care. The other people that have powerful PC? They might care.

Not being able to use any overlays, any injectors, SLI/crossfire, G, true full exscreen, turn off V sync etc. That stuff could actually bother PC people and ruin their experience.

Along with being locked to the store and OS. I'm more than happy to use 7 and 8 which they both own but now pretend like they don't exist, in the case for Steam, they keep supporting multiple OS's, I'm totally down with Valve's level of support than MS's on this. I'd actually be dandy if they fixed the store problems, allowed me to modifty my files and sell to windows 7-8 as well, they'd have all my money and support easily.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Now if only the fix the major problems with the Windows 10 store.

As it is now it'll never compete with Steam and is getting a bad rap.

Well news broke that they may not consider releasing a new xbox but allow us to upgrade the current one. They are also trying to fuse the two together so that one can't distinguish one from the other SMDH.

I'm not sure this makes sense to me.   Seriously can you explain what this means.  You can't exactly pop out the video card from the Xbox One so obviously this isn't a standard upgrade...

Can a mod or someone with knowhow please add this to op.

Even if they fixed those issues they still won't show on being the same level as Steam in terms of what Steam provides and what others provie to Steam. MS store will just be a store that sells MS only games that you cannot mod or do anything else to.

Yeah but the major problems like no Crossfire support or modding support are going to kill the Windows 10 store before it starts at this rate. I really don't understand what Microsoft is doing. If Tomb Raider wasn't so cheap, I would of been furious at the time. At least they said the Crossfire issue will be fixed, so that's something.

My guess is that they must think fixing these issues will get everyone on board but tbh I don't plan on using 10 and I know I;m not alone, there are 7 billion on this planet that all aren't going to be using 10 at the end of the day and those that are still using 7-8 are still part of their userbase, they just choose to pretend we don't ever exist, only when we jump through thre 10 hoop will we show up as someone that matters on thier "matters" list. For years though MS haven't really cared for mods in their games, even though the only Halo game PC gamers god was modded for a very long time and they never once praised or accepted the fact that people loved modding that game. Mods are just a great asset to PC gaming and really make things interesting and even make our games better in some areas.

I don't know why MS would want to completely ignore that aspect of PC gaming, because so far those that fully support mods get quite a high level of praise and support (Firaxis and Bethesda for example) with their games having a longer lifespan as a result of the modding community, that's like a whole other community to make money on, but by not supporting mods you also drive away that crowd and are likely to make that bit less of a profit, especially when the game is broken and they don't fix it.

If MS took all the pages from Steam (well maybe not Greenlight) and threw in mod support along with allowing 3rd parties to approach them (as in not forcing or paying them to sell to their store) and to top if off, supporting 7-8.1 for a few years more, I would totally be all on board with them.

Thanks for the informative reply.  Yeah I really don't get these people's mindset.  Are they gamers or techies?  if there's a game I like and want I will play it.  It doesn't matter if it's technically inferior to what it could be.
