Forums - Nintendo - Is Nintendo Fixing Brawl's Online Problems?

I was just wondering, has Nintendo said anything about them working on Brawl's pnline problem? Lag-wise and connection/error-wise?

I know for a fact that I'm not the only one whose been having problemswith Brawl's online, so its a common problem.

Also, could this be a problem of hardware? Is the Wii not built for this? Or is it because of Nintendo's internet itself thus a problem that can be fixed?

Let me know!

Well I had those problems only on the first week, now its working flawlessly. If its laggy is my fault or others but its not the servers anymore.

Let the servers calm down. Just about every game goes crazy the first week online. Rest assured, you'll live and have your Brawl too.

I haven't gotten any of the error codes anymore so those are definitely fixed. There's some lag for me, but it's manageable. Some games I don't get any lag. Then again, my router is a few rooms away from my Wii.

Yeah, the Wii is not powerful enough to handle internet data.

On a more serious note, online in Brawl has improved A LOT compared to the first few days. It also depends on how the user has it's connection set-up. I easily see Nintendo improving the service as much as they can on their end.

I spoke to NOA customer service about a DS issue, and asked about the brawl problem. The Rep told me they in the midst of increasing servers by a large amount not oly due to the Brawl issues, but due to an increase in online games coming out.

He also shared that the call center staff plays MOH:H2 a LOT. As much as Brawl. I asked him what he thought of the online on WiiPES2008 and he had not yet tried it. (Overall it's pretty smooth, but can be occasionally laggy as you have the ability to control the whole team, not just one player.

If your Brawl is still buggy, I'd expect to see changes this week by his answers.

I haven't gotten an error connection recently and the lag is usually just depending on who I'm brawling so it's not really Nintendo's fault. Unfortunately all the issues they really need to solve with online have no response from Nintendo at all.

It's Nintendo's first couple of years with online gaming and it's no co-incidence that they brought the online games out in a certain order with Pokemon attracting gamers in one region only then Mario strikers charged attracting online traffic in europe - also most of 07 3rd party devs were stating they never had the online model from Nintendo thus only allowing wiiconnect 24 swapping info and so on.

Then push on to 08 and Nintendo release SSBB and Mario Kart whilst konami release pro evo and EA release MOH-H2 topping this off with Nintendo's announcement of MMO games and pay to play service.

To conclude - the online service is going in the right direction and pretty soon SSBB, MK, MOHH2 and Pro Evo gamers will all be playing online without any lag.

The online Smash Brothers offers is as good as it gets from Nintendo. Be happy the game even has online, as a lot of Wii games don't. Brawl's online has been fun for me.

I would think there doing something about but I have not heard them say anything myself. The problem is Nintendo's online set-up.
