Yeah. That's one of the parts that impressed me most in this trailer.

And this is just a trailer. The game will be filled with such incredible moments and visuals...

Really.

Can't.

Wait.

^ ^ So happy that I can't see those gifs, or I'd have to bring down the ban hammer on Gribble!

You should leave now lol.  But seriously, it look fantastic.  AAAA quality.

People are free to think whatever they want and to some it does look like CGI, of course, especially in motion. RotTR beats the FMV's from Tomb Raider 1 easily in many things.

But picture quality alone is still not even close to what, let's say Toy Story, does. We still live in an age where you can spot single polygons which is ok when it comes to games. You can't expect a higher level when you only have 33 ms to render a frame.

Oh, that stealth edit took me by surprise ;)

My comment wasn't really me wondering anything about the subject. I know what CGI is. I was being a tad sarcastic.

But I still think many games achieve CGI (or near CGI, to suit your narrative) quailty. But there will always be a gap between the most cutting edge pre-rendered CGI, and real-time graphics. That doesn't mean the latter can't look like CGI at all.

What's up with all the editing your posts afterwards? :)

Of course there will always be a gap, no matter how the "narrative" is. And it doesn't have to be the most cutting edge technology.

It's just a question to what people define CGI by themselves and when you set your standards low enough, it can of course look like CGI (whatever that means in that context). So yeah, when people say "It's CGI quality!", perhaps this has other reasons.

Still you will hardly find a game that beats ND games when it comes to combination of tech and art-style.

10 million confirmed!

I see the Elena/Drake one. That's not a big deal, but it confirms what Hynad said. It's visually a cut above everyone.

HA HA HA! You haven't seen ANYTHING. xD

That said, it is time to dip out, though. I don't want people concerned with posting gifs because of media blackout folks like me. Enjoy, everyone! :)

Yeah, that nothing.  There are those in this thread trying to downplay this.  But it is above being downplayed.  You should leave now lol.

I don't think anyone needs to put their standard low to think Uncharted 4 looks like CGI. It may not be Pixar quality, but it's certainly not on the low end either.

There isn't one single game that looks this good.  On any platform.
