which port are you talking about?  What port?

I guess you wanted to quote him and not me xD

I agree that calling TPHD a port is just wrong, but after what the said about Pokken is pretty clear he is on "all is shit" mode.

Ha yeah lol that's hilarious. I have no interest in Pokken but calling it a tekken with a Pokemon skin seems ridiculous. I can't even see any similarities outside of two 3D models attaching one another.

Also yeah people really have a hard time telling the differance between a PORT, REMAKE AND REMASTER.

Whatever happened to Project Treasure? I still want that game to happen already!

It released in Japan last year. December 3, 2015. It's now known as Lost Reavers. No word on a NA or EU release yet...

Switch those two around and stick a "reboot" in front of Tomb Raider, and yeah, pretty much.

But thats just wrong, specially with pokken that doesnt really play like Tekken at all.

Two things, then.

Firstly, how exactly is it different, outside of simplified controls?

Secondly, even if we assume that it is radically different and an entirely new evolution (pun intended) of fighting games as a whole, that's still three games plus a "remastering" for the games list. I think I'm safe in saying my original point still stands if that's the case.

Perhaps a port is a bit harsh, but I didn't feel like using the word "remake" twice in such close proximity.

And honestly, it's not really a remake either. It's just a visual enhancing with one or two new minor features. A remake is something along the lines of Metroid: Zero Mission, where the level design, enemies, abilities, and general gameplay is revamped heavily while still retaining the basic premesis and storyline.

And who said is a remake? Is a remaster, it is not a remake nor a port, they have bumped the res from 480 to 1080, they have reworked every single texture into high quality ones (and better shadows), they have improved gameplay,  added new content, gamepad functionalities etc, It is as good as remasters get.

Runs on the same engine, uses the same 2.5D perspective as Tekken games, uses a simplified control scheme based on Tekken's. Honestly, I'd be interested in seeing some of these differences outside of pure aesthetics.

Ahh ok I haven't really seen much off Pokken outside off a few mins gameplay and from what I've seen it looked nothing like a Tekken game ( but them I've not played a Tekken game since ps1).

Thats not true, the game is actually way more similar to Naruto games than to Tekken, I think you have not seen many videos of the game becasue the perspective is quite different, you move freely around the camp until you execute some combo or movement that changes this into a 2D fighter, you alternate between both modes in combat. Thats nothing like Tekken.

...have you ever seen Tekken Tag Tournament footage? It's exactly that, with slightly faster movement and perspective that locks ocassionally.
