At that point rather go with my PC.

This "who needs a Xbox, I got a PC" thing is getting old. Advice for the mods, lets consider calling a form of trolling. Its becoming an issue in many threads.

Anyhow, a mouse and keyboard would make using things the web browser more appealing. Maybe some games will even use it like Halo Wars 2.

Consoles nowadays are basically affordable PC's(think of Wii U as the outlier). It's helping a lot of people play high-quality games by owning a console(instead of a PC). I actually like the fact that consoles are going this route. Now we don't need to have a gaming PC just to play some games we like.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

This...

They should bring more rts then. How about reviving some franchises MS?

At first I was thinking that idea but then I remembered the whole OS and store restriction plan. I'd rather someone else bring more RTS games back from the dead than simply tying them to a single OS and store while screwing over the rest.

Also if we're in talks of K+M support, I can't for the life of me see every X1 player using them let alone having every X1 game natively supported to play with the setup. Could you imagine a few people outright destroying another bunch who have used a gamepad for years?. There is a strict reason as to why PC and console players aren't in direct competiion when it comes to FPS or games that rely heavily on a M+K setup.

I imagine Halo Wars 2 will be largely centrered around their gamepad than a K+M, especially considering how the first game never touched PC and was all about the gamepad design despite last gen having a small K+M support of it's own.

This. The PS4 has native K/M support and guess how many games use it? 2. FF 14, and War Thunder. The option is there, developers just don't use it.

Also, most modern Total War games would run like shit on consoles. They're pretty taxing games.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Also I remember last gen having the same sort of K+M touted support and yet the majority of RTS games had to come up with a way for the largely used gamepads to play said games.

Red Alert 3 and Kane's Wrath+C&C 3 had to use EA's version of the "command wheel":

While it did indeed work, it didn't allow for much flexibility the same way you would get naturally with a K+M. I didn't mind using it much at the time when I owned those titles on my 360 but years down the line on PC, I feel the K+M is just better for RTS, but with consoles I just can't see a vast majority using such a setup, most even see that setup as a strict PC desk type phenomenon, like the kind that see PC's associated only for work.

Boy, they're really giving people no reason to own an X1.

Because you have more options..? How does being able to use a keyboard and mouse on your console make the xbox value any less?

How about we not do that. That phrase can be used with any of the big three and pc interchangeably. If they ban people for using it in a xbox thread then it would have to be used in all of them to be fair. It would lead to alot of stupid bans.

Mods would simply have gauge whats going on. Some users have had a tendency post in threads simply to attack a platform or company with no interest in the products. Thats a big reason for many permabans.

I agree.

I feel MS should Xbox get the ability to run select Windows apps. That way we could have popular PC games on X1with no actual port work required. That is something that could genuinely move hardware.

"So it has pretty much all the same games as PC?"
"Right."
"And you can play with either KB/M or gamepad?
"Right, like on PC."
"And it's made by you guys, like Windows is?"
"Right."
"Can it play games as good as PC?"
"Sure, but only if we're taking low-end builds into account."
"Any features it can do that PC can't?"
"Right now it's mostly just Halo and Kinect, but we don't support it anymore."
"Which one?"
"Yes."
"Do I need XB1 to play Fable?"
"Nope."
"Quantum Break?"
"Nuh-uh."
"Titanfall?"
"Nah."
"But it still has exclusives like Forza, Gears, and Scalebound, right?"
"Well..."
"What about Phantom Dust, that's still a thing, right?"
"Definitely."
"How is development going for it at Darkside?"
"Who?"

I'm not an Xbox fan. But dangit, I hope you guys catch a break soon on not becoming a Steambox. KB/M by itself isn't bad, but compiled with everything else, it seems like MS just wants to turn XB1 into a Windows 10 PC.

Youre hoping Xbox fans catch a break? I've had a blast with many X1 games not on PS4.

If anything, I'm waiting for my PS4 to catch up with my X1 with good exclusives regardless if they are on PC. SFV was my most anticipated game and its a work in progress. I will play through the Uncharted 4 campaign before SFV has one.

So PS4 already has keyboard and mouse support that's nice.

I think not too many devs use this feature on PS4 because there's not too many dev history of rts or games that use the device on Sony's platform. MS is different on that matter. If they can bring more inhouse rts and games that use it maybe other devs will release more games that use keyboard and mouse. And if it's popular on Xbox it will become on PS4 to some extent. I think it's good for gamers, we should hope this works. The more genres to come to consoles the better.

Just because PC has many rts doesn't mean I wanna play on PC... I want these games on consoles too.

Unless we want to see it as a negative I don't see how this is a negative.

I'd still choose to play on XOne rather than PC but there's no incentive to purchase an XOne atm. This seems like a cool idea but I don't know how many games will use it. Halo Wars 2 is the only notable one I can think of.

So you don't want to play on PC for anything?, even though RTS if one of PC's main genres?.

I'd also rather RTS games come about more freuiently ina  universal way, not an MS way that will no doubt lock said games to an OS and store. I want the genre to thrive like wildfire on PC and it's in no way going to thrive when it's locked to a single store on a single OS. I want more RTS games but I also want them to have more space and not be tied down, there should be no price to pay for such a wish.
