Forums - Gaming - I am about to buy SFV...

In about an hour and a half from now I will be leaving the gym and picking up SFV despite not agreeing with the lack of content of the release package.  I am willing to look past it though ONLY because the missing game modes will be patched in later on for free (the Driveclub treatment essentially which actually turned out well).

BUT...I don't agree with this method and don't want it to become the norm.  I will probably be getting it anyway but...HELP ME.  You halve till 10 pm est time to talk me out of it.

GO!!!

It might be good to get it now to rack up enough fight money to get the dlc characters on release, at least that's what I'm telling myself after--much to my own surprise--the game arrived on my porch the other day because I forgot to cancel the preorder after getting my beta access code as I had intended.

Help you what?

Im not not getting SFV untill all the shit comes through. You can make fight money but store is closed till April? Seriously?

You logic does not help me (or does pending on how you look at it)

From what I hear the core mechanics are solid, and I am getting that itch.  So considering everything that is missing is coming at no extra cost....yyeeeeaaaahhhhh....

Here's what you should do: Instead of buying SFV, go into the store and buy a PS4 game you've never heard of, if they have any. That's right. Time to take a risk. A few centuries later, when they've patched SFV with actual content, you can decide to buy it and get a respectable beginning experience from it.

This has a simple solution:Dont buy it now.If you feel like there is not enough content to justify the purchase and/or you dont want to incentivate this practice, just buy it when you feel like the game is has enough content.

Edit:I dont know what your taste is like, but Im pretty sure there is a game or two out there that you want to play but didnt have the time or money. So invest in those while SFV has not enough content

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

You might wanna check if the servers are working, last time I checked people were having trouble getting into matches

Well, SFV has quite a bit of issues that are pretty nonsense according to threads/youtube/articles:

1) If you want to unlock characters, you need to earn money, if you want to earn money, you need to be able to connect to the servers but the servers are down. If you do the story mode and you are not connected to their servers, than you will not earn any money. Oh and you cannot grind money on story mode. It's a one time thing but people aren't sure whether or not playing offline "counts"

2) In order to unlock characters, you need $100,000 Zenny but if say you wanted a cool costume instead, those cost $40,000 Fight Money. I believe you earn $100,000 Fight Money per story mode quest but dont quote me on that

3) If you want to unlock a new character and you have 0 Zenny. You will need to WIN 2000 matches online or pay $6 per character. I believe SFV starts out with less characters than SFIV started out but don't quote me on that either.

Any many more!

I personally wouldn't buy this nonsense ever but its up to you
