I'm not sure. I think there would had been many more people simply accepting Microsoft DRM "iniciative".

Brings me back to my pre-PS2 days. I had become a PC gamer. Was playing a lot of strategy games.... certainly a different experience!

I would make due with the Wii U.... and PC gameing would be the solution for everything else.

There used to be rumors about Amazon making a console. Would be nice to see what they could come up with.

Without the Wii u HUGELY stepping up - consoles would have taken a HUGE hit. One i'm not sure you could come back from any time soon.

This^ because of drm I would not own a xbone. I would just own a wii u and cry every night till sony or sega came out with one.

PC is never out of the question, lol. I'm just not into using a computer for playing games as much. I've used an emulator before and played games using a PS3 controller.

Why wouldn't they have still changed? The Wii U existed and still exists. And with no PS4 console you'd see A LOT more third party companies releasing their games on Wii U.

And with no PS4 who knows what MS would have done. The Xbone could have been drastically different. For example it doesn't need the power if it's only competition is the Wii U.

It would have made this gen even more of an underpowered stop gap gen than it is.

from oct 2012 - oct 2013 there was no ps4, but the wii u failed anyway. I dunno if the sales would increasy significantly in 2014 without an ps4.

Japanese devs would have chosen Wii U over X1 even if the install base was 0 vs 1 Bilion :v

keep in mind that the Kinect would have stayed bundled so the price difference would be enormous and Nintendo might have chosen to make a Wii U slim with overall improvements like a better architecture and a more tablet-like gamepad...
