Forums - Microsoft - Xbox need to resume the $50 price advantage over PS4 to compete.

I'm honestly not sure if it's even worth it any more. Everything they've thrown into the game to try and mix things up has had a really poor ROI.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Not really. They lost there's not coming back WW(there might still be a slim chance in the US) all they can do is continue to release great games and not screw up their next system.

Price reduction without some other appealing feature will do nothing. People want exclusive games. Where are the exclusives?

id say they need a xbox one slim with a 50 dollar price cut for holidays

Yes. Xbox One is HUUUUGE compaired to the PS4, and since they took out the kinect, it should be able to be made much much smaller.

A 14nm chip, a slim smaller box, and price cut (down to 249$) and yes sales should be up alot compaired to what they are now.

imho i think the size isnt helping the sales.

There are probably people that pick up both, look at the designs and go "this box looks prettier under my tv, than the other one",

and pick the PS4 for its size & design. It couldnt hurt for the Xbox One to get a slim version.

All Microsoft needs to do is simply continue to make good games for their platform. However, they need more diverse games like ReCore and Ori to assist their efforts.

Judging by how their recent exclusives are going to Windows 10. MS has already given up on competing and turned to maximizing profits.

They tried the $50 less move already, PS4 still sold better. I don't believe they have much faith in the consoles market at this point.

Microsoft should focus on supporting Windows 10 and making their games as nearly un-pirateable as possible.

I'm not talking about outselling PS4.... the 50$ price advantage must be maintain at all cost.... they went into this generation with a weaker console and they also don't have a rechargable battery for their controller. IT's not like they won't make their money back. At retail their console if they have the same MSRP, it just feel like you buying an inferior system. People are still buying new console just to play madden and call of duty, in order to attract these customer the Xbox must be cheaper in america.

Microsoft must insure that they get to the $250 price mark well before the PS4. At $250 you get many more impulse casual people to buy the console.

Microsoft was never going to win WW, even last gen eventually PS3 came back because of their brand power WW.

Microsoft with the Xbox one simply need to focus on America and UK-Europe. They have over 45% of market share in both America and UK when compare to PS4. Aggressive marketing and maintain price advantage and they could over take PS4 in America. At the beginning of 2016 Xbox one is selling on par with PS4 and it's being outsold almost 2:1 in America.

The average console buying ins't hardcore gamer and is not looking for the big exclusive most gamer still buy console only to play Fifa/Madden, Call of duty & grand theft Auto V.

Price advantage still really matters for someone looking to get in the next gen consoles to play these games. Just look at the top 10 selling games on PS4.
