I'm finally starting to lose interest in FF14. I'll always continue to play the story and primals, but they completely destroyed the raiding scene in 3.0-3.1 It's dead and I know many play who have quit after that and the horrible anima weapon debacle. Hoping that Midas isn't horrible.
What is the atma debacle ? I went into a hiatus before the atma quests came out. Whats the problems, too hard, too easy, too grindy, weapons suck or a combination ?
We were promised a lot more interesting content in regards to the new relic weapon. It's pretty senseless grind that requires hundreds of runs clearing the same content over and over again. Just not impressed with it. Doesn't help that it's still not BiS for several classes.
"We'll toss the dice however they fall, And snuggle the girls be they short or tall, Then follow young Mat whenever he calls, To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Ye I was looking at the stats, determination galore it seens. Well its pretty much how relic weapons have always been them, cant say Im shocked but I hopped theyd make it a nice storyline and not very grindy but FF XIV being Japanase has to be grindy it seens.

Just like in the previous relic quests, I'm sure they'll allow players to customize the stats in future upgrades.
Vincoletto said: Someday I will be unemployed... and then, only then, I will dare to play this game. I wish they could release a "solo version" od the game, where you could explore the world inside a 60 hour quest enjoying a good narrative and not depending on other people to go with you.
I tried the 30 day trial and god, the game was so beautiful on PS4... the music is amazing
I did exactly that and finished the first main campaign before my 30 day trial ended. Although you can't really finish the campaign without a party in boss and dungeon levels, ypu don't really need to find anyone yourself as the game does it for you. I played it like an offline Jrpg and it was glorious. I'm too scared to return to the game because of the huge amount of content waiting for me. I need about a year of vacation if I ever plan on going back lol.
It's amazing how ff14 started as one of the worst ff games to one of THE best ff games ever. I'm still dumbfounded at how many still claim Sqaure hasn't made a good ff game since 9. Seriously, the ignorance lol.
You have any idea of how many hours it took you to finish the main campaign? Also you mention the game searchs for people to you, which seems to be a kind of match making right? But do you need comunication to beat the bosses and raids or or usually everybody is together as a team but minding their own business without communication?
Also, when you finihs the main campaign and go into endgame, does it have any kind of ending cinematics or whatever? Also, is there a good plot? SOrry for so many questions, but your comments made think about trying the game again

I didn't count the hours that much but it was at least 30 hours, probably much more. For the party, yes you will have to communicate with other people as you will have a role in the party(depending on your job). You will also most likely get advices from them and techniques on how to effectively finish a boss fight or a dungeon which is very useful. Always tell them if you're new to a dungeon or not so they can help you. It's kind of annoying if someone is new to a dungeon or boss fight but doesn't tell anyone that he or she is and ends up dying very early on.
There is no cgi cinematics after the opening. All other cutscenes are in-game and there are LOTS of them, exactly like your normal JRPG game, so yes there is an ending cutscene. I don't remember much of the plot as it's been a long time since I finished the game but I also don't remember anything bad or even mediocre about it. Also remember that I just finished the FIRST story campaign. The story continues after that first one with every expansion.

The main story is as long as any single player main entry Final Fantasy game.
Besides the opening CGI cutscene, there is an endgame cgi cutscene when you complete the raid dungeon, The Binding Coil of Bahamut.
This is the CGI cutscene that you'll see after you complete, The Binding Coil of Bahamut.
Its too bad I dont have the time/motivation to start MMOs.
If my old guildmates were still playing MMOs I guess I would have joined them on FFXIV. Dont want to start off new and alone lol.
Final Fantays XIV is very easy to play solo, if you dont mind too much with having the best gear and beating the hardest bosses you can stick to the main story. The story keeps evolving and growing as new patches are added, the original game has a story some 100 hours long but with all the patches it got to around 150 hours. every boss aside fomr the ones on the Binding coil of Bahamu has an easy or story mode version, the games matchmaking will find a suitable party for you and theres no need for comunication.
The expansion Heavensward continues the main story and add some 50-60 more hours to it. And them we have the recent patches moved the story foward even more. Its long but very easy to do solo, and heavensward has an easy mode even for the raid so now every single boss can be beat even by the super causual crowd.
The story is pretty freaking amazing, and the game does an excelent job of making you feel like youre incredibly important and a highly reveared hero. Like for intance i play a Dragoon, and I completed the class quests for the Dragoon becoming an Azure Dragoon. When Heavensward came out and they added new clas quests the storyline continued but this time I was in charge of training a lancer general who was hell bent in hunting a certain dragon, she felt like the only way shed ever manage to defeat the ebast was if I teached her all I knew, so the storyline actualy took in consideration the fact that I was a super powerfull dragoon and evryone treats me liek Im a master of my craft, its no like most MMOs were every expansion they basicaly reset you, the story takes into account the fact that your character is the only one that cna save the world and ppl react to you acordingly.
Now if you do want the best egar, learn how to craft like a pro and stuf, than youll both need a guild and be patient cause the game becomes super grindy on that level.
To give you a taste of what a boss figth looks like (and sounds like, the ost of this game is one of the most amazing things ever created in a videogame, not kiding) in FFXIV story mode:
