I'm still waiting for the announcement of Microsoft's own digital distribution platform. They have been signs of them trying to regain their ground of the PC market for a long time. Minecraft alone should guarantee them with a strong userbase from the start.

This is indeed very likely, though if it does happen i hope any purchase will be cross-buy. For me that would actually give Xbox One an edge atleast when it comes to buying digital, because you will alway's be able to play these game on any future pc you build.

If Microsoft, start doing this kind of thing (Pushing Digital on consoles) they will lose the support of the Retail sellers, and now the majority of the games sells at retail.

if the Retails are very good and destroy their retail market.

Lol at those minimum requirement

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I said I would be surprised if QB released simultaneously with PC and XBO, but I can't say I am with how they're doing it. It's actually a very smart move on Microsoft's part since they'll benefit regardless of where they buy the game. I can honestly see this happening more often with their exclusive games.

The PS5 Exists.

Scalebound is next

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

At this rate I presume the next Xbox will be a living room friendly, upgradable PC.

This is when Sony miss a trick. What they should have already done is put out a trailer with ONLY PS4 exclusives to cement a narrative that's currently exploding on the internet. They did it with the whole 'sharing games' narrative but don't seem to grab opportunities as often as they should.

GTX 760 and R7 260x for min? Yeah, I don't think Xbox sales are going to suffer...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I think this is a misperception. It's not that this release, in particular, is going to sway anyone (at least, of any real significance). It's about the accumulation of releases that are no longer X1 only.  I know many will say "oh, I don't see the big deal, this is better for the X1 anyway", but the truth is, if the Xbox One cannot be marketed as having games Only On It, it will have a problem in the future being a strong sell. It's not just about people with no current gen machine, but PS4 owners, Wii U owners, and PC owners. Plenty of them don't have the machine, and with this kind of news, they have even less of a reason to buy one.

That said, don't misunderstand me, I don't expect all, non-PC owning, Wii U/PS4 owners to suddenly go buy expensive PC parts over buying an X1. That would be crazy talk. But, it leaves an aura about the Xbox brand that says "just wait for the PC version" - to either be announced for day-and-date, or for a future release.

I get that, but it is a good scare tactic.

So does the cross buy apply to physical copies of the game too?
