Forums - Gaming - SEGA on a COMEBACK--or--SEGA just getting Lucky

Last year when SEGA said they excpected Mario & Sonic at the Olympics to sell 4 million copies EVERYONE laughed in their face & SEGA bashing commenced.

A few months later Mario & Sonic at the Olympics did indeed achieve that feat....now was it due to quality or brand name or wii audience was a "debatable" question.

Next Yakuza 3 released to critical success in Japan and its sales were also good..216K in 2 weeks on the Ps3 in Japan is no laughing matter.

Soon after the Codenemed 2 demo was released along with previews of the horror game and guess what, mostly a positive response again.

Viking battle for Asgard Impression from people who played the game were EXTREMELY positive (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182695), comments such as "a pleasent surprise", "GOW 3 devs take notice"....were made. Basically Creative assembly Delivered again ... and Sega Haters bit the dust...yet again

Next up Valkryia Chronicles, this Ps3 exclusive releasing next month in Japan hasn't received any reviews yet but the screens, art style and so on look brilliant and it has already become popular among the forum posters for these things, it is safe to assume it will be yet another critical success for SEGA

Now FINALLY...yesterday some screens and a video was posted of a NEW SONIC game, apprently called Sonic Unleashed. People may say who cares about SONIC after the last few terrible games, but they need to take a look at this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjxnhXs7Mqs. We can clearly see it is 2.5D....SONIC was at his best in 2D and this shows SEGA going back to Sonics Roots..and many people have been waiting for that to happen.

All of these things send out ONE message, SEGA is on the rise.

That was my interpretation, please tell me what all of you think, are they just getting lucky or are they on the rise and if they are will we see the inevitable (according to some) Dreamcast 2

"inevitable Dreamcast 2."

Fail.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

On a more serious note, I do believe Sega is on the rise commercially. I await with anticipation a significant upswing in their game quality status.

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

I think Sega are making a bit of a comeback with a little bit of luck

The dreamcast 2 aint gunna happen until one of the 3 console producers (Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sony) throw in the towel. Sega wouldnt survive with 3 other consoles on the market. Plus those companies are huge compaired to SEGA
