ps3 fanboys would be still celebrating if Wii had failed, too bad its not the case and it is only wishful thinking to think this will be reversed, too bad nintendo haters, face the truth this gen, maybe next time....

nintendo success hasnt really affected sony nor microsoft. Sony would have been in a better situation if they had stayed with the ps2 strategy : games and price wins console wars, not blueray and graphics. Microsoft has sold pretty well this generation anyway.

I must say the opposed,  Nintendo success has made X360 and PS3 to be working heavily on price cuts... X360 had to add a extra warranty for the red ring of dead and PS3 go down $200 and also has made a big dent on sales of both... if that doesn't is that the Wii affected Ms or Sony... I fail to think what could be

you dont think the fact the systems was 600 dollars was responsible for the price cuts or the facts that microsoft sucks at making hardware caused the red ring. seriously, had sony had the ps3 at 300 dollars to begin with, the game would be different right now.

Yeah, but MS didn't do anything about the Red Ring until was losing marketshare with the Wii...and of course PS3 could start at $300 so instead of just lose $250 as was stated the loss of each PS3 they could start losing $550! Of course that number has gone down, but start the first month with that kind of loss is insane

If Wii wasn't on the market... at least, i think Japan would have go to the PS3 side much faster than now... Personally i know people who having the money for a PS3, ended with a Wii, just cause the controls were innovative...We don't know what could have happen, but Wii have a significant effect this gen...

try to describe the wii innvation without talking about the controller. just try. anyways, Sony killed their own self this generation, everybody else took advantage.

Just because the syntax of a sentence makes sense doesn’t mean that the semantics of the sentence makes sense. Nintendo decided to focus on improving on the user interface because they felt that it was the limiting element in game design; you’re asking someone to talk about what is innovative about the Wii without talking about what is innovative about the Wii.

The truth is that the PS3 is not performing well next to the Wii because Sony has lost touch with what the typical gamer wants. The typical gamer wants to be exposed to new and unique single player and local multiplayer videogame experiences and doesn’t want to spend more than (about) $200 on the hardware to do this; previously, the increase in performance of hardware provided the new game play experiences but things have changed.

Why talk about innovation without the controller? I don't see logic of thinking in that way. Innovation isn't add power... that is more keeping updated with the competition and the technology. Even throught, i think is crazy enougth to have a console with less than a fifth of power of their competition...that is innovative, they opposed everyone :P
Sony didn't killed himself, they just win the Blueray over DVD-HD...that is a accomplish of the PS3
