I've played the DKC first 3 games and didn't 100% it. Both in 96%, 98% and 95% completion only. Then I've returned the SNES i've borrowed.

Is DKCR playable with the classic controller? or did anyone played and complete the game using WiiMote?

Not sure about the CC but you can play it with just the Wii remote

Is it great playing DKCR with a Wii remote? Does it need some motion controls? or just use the Wii remote sideways like a normal controller? 

I think I'll eventually buy this title new off Amazon. Going for a little under 45 new right now. I'd hate if it turned into a Lego City Undercover or Pikmin 3 which go for way too much brand new on Amazon right now. Nintendo should release them as Nintendo Selects priced at $30.

I did hear that you really liked it! I don't know tho. It seems to be a typical action game, they probably have tons similar & better on the PS4. I see it's only $60 on Amazon again tho so now would be a good time to buy it.

Would rather play Yoshi or Mario if I want to play a platformer

Not really, true, I've never played DK before and only dabbled in Yoshi a bit

But in General, I'm not a fan of platformers though Mario was the main exception because I found it really fun... but even now, I'm barely playing Mario and I've lost interest in this genre again, meaning I'm not really playing any of these games anymore, DK included

It is still my favorite game on Wii U.

My only problem was that I beat it in a day. Yeah I didn't 100% it, but still it should take longer than that that. Great game otherwise though, love dat soundtrack!
