Forums - Gaming - Mario Vs. Sonic Vs. Crash

Sony announced Crash as PS1's unofficial mascot. No other character, on any Sony console, ever became an official mascot, or unofficial mascot, except for Crash, who became the only unofficial mascot. Sony never had an official mascot, like Microsoft, so the closest thing Sony has to a mascot is Crash Bandicoot, who happens to be an unofficial mascot. Crash Bandicoot 2 sold more copies than any Sonic game in existence. Crash is the 11th best selling franchise... Ever... Where's the love for Crash? He's not as good as Sonic, or Mario, but come on! He's awesome. Back in the past, many people considered Crash, Sonic, and Mario, to be equals. Now everything is different. Sonic for the PS3 is awful... Just awful... Crash of the Titans looks almost as bad. Sonic and Crash both suck now. Mario never went bad. Sonic, Donkey Kong, Crash, Spyro, Bubsy, and many other platformers, all went bad. Mario kept it true, 100%.

Tifa's tits in FF7 was a better mascot than crash .. well, imo... btw alex, yousa funny dude!

Polygon man was Sonys attempt at a mascot. Segata Shanshiro is, by far, cooler than crash. He died stopping a missle from destroying a buidng for christ sake. Either way, sales isnt the best way to measure the "worthiness" of a mascot, and the crash games were never that great, or even true 3d platformers.

Come on... It's Crash. Need I say anymore? I guess people just forgot about his great PS1 games. And they were great. They got fantastic reviews. If you don't like Crash, you don't like platformers. And sales is a pretty good way of measuring the worthiness (without the quotation marks) of a mascot, because when you look at the list of best selling games, and best selling mascots, the list of best selling, to least selling, make sense. All of the bad games sold the least, and all of the better games, sold the most. And I think the 3D Crash games were truer to 2D platformers, than most 3D platformers, because so many 3D platformers are free-roaming games, which are better because there are more places to explore, and offer more things to do, but worse, because you can get lost sometimes, far easier, and can get a little bit boring, especially with the item hunting, plagued in almost all free roaming 3D platformers. Crash is definitely different than most other 3D platformers.

The games require a lot of skill, precise movement, and timing. Crash isn't the best. Mario, Sonic, and even Donkey Kong, had funner games. But Crash is definitely more popular than Banjo Kazooie, Conker, Spyro, Blinx, Jak, Ratchet, Sly, Bubsy, Davy, Gex, and all of those other platformers. Well, at least he was more popular, until Wrath of Cortex came out. Then Twinsanity further ruined the franchise. I'd rather play Jak 2 than Crash Tag Team Racing (awful, awful game). I'd rather play Bubsy 3D than Crash Boom Bang (awful, awful game). I'd rather play Sonic the Hedgehog for the PS3 than Crash of the Titans (awful, awful game). Yeah. Crash was really good. Now he sucks. Too bad most of you never played the PS1 games, or just didn't like them, because they were really good games.

Please don't get me started with Sonic. He hit a bigger brick wall than Crash did. Like in Sonic and the Secret Rings, WTF is up with the horrendous Arabian theme? It doesn't match Sonic at all. When you think of a 3D Sonic game, the Middle East is the last thing you'll think of. After Sonic Adventure, the series has been thrown all over the place. Sonic Adventure is by far, the best 3D Sonic game, which happens to be the first 3D Sonic game, and is the closest 3D Sonic game to follow the ruits of the 2D ones. Anything after Sonic Adventure was just garbage, except for the Sonic Advance games... I guess... Which weren't better than Sonic Adventure, surprisingly, but better than any other Sonic game after Sonic Adventure. Sonic Team has awkwardly ruined the franchise in ways horrendously avoidable, like the addition of characters, the stupid themes they have tied the games to (skator theme for Sonic, rapping theme for Knuckles, childish theme for Tails, hooker theme for Rouge). It all started with Knuckles Chaotix, when they added like 10 new characters, nobody ever wanted to see ever again!
