Well Wii U already has it biggest franchises in Japan, and everyone expecting new hardware, so this year doesnt look good at all for Wii U.

New hardware is bad for ps4 too.

4-8. Because holidays. Doubt it'll be like last holiday though.

Probably none. However if there is a price cut, then maybe a few weeks. Come on Nintendo, it's about time for a price cut.

Yes, but it's far more worse for Wii U because Wii U is Nintendo console, and that new hardware will be also new Nintendo hardware, not new Sony hardware.

Still... if their next console launches before Wii-U loses it's lead, the Wii-U won the generation.

That's determined when the generation ends. Which is not when the first console makes an exit, but when 8th gen game development more or less ceases.

Technically yes, but not quite. If two men start a race and one man leaves the race to go start another, he did not lose said race because you can't lose something you're not running in.

Well, you used the term 'won'. If two men start a race, and one man starts 10 seconds before the other, but halfway to the finish line realises that he's out of breath and quits, he can't really call himself a winner.
But speaking of "leaves the race to go start another", it'll be interesting to see how that turns out and how much of a new race it is, vs re-entering the same race again.

It's not a question that it will be a new race.

*looks at launch alligned* Yeah ps4 pulling way ahead.  Anyway it will pass it this year so you're idea of winning will still favour the ps4.
