Forums - Sales Discussion - Amazon US February monthly bestsellers and general Amazon-based discussion

It seems the January NPD numbers are reflected in all the XB1 deals that Amazon and other retailers had to put out to get rid of XB1 stock. Gribble also mentioned Abdiel had too much XB1 stock at Best Buy.

The following XB1 bundles come with a $50 gift card and Forza Horizon 2 at no additional cost:

  • Gears of War: Ultimate Edition 500GB - $349
  • Holiday 3 games 1TB - $399
  • Kinect with 3 games 500GB - $399
  • XB1 Name Your Game bundle 500GB - $349
  • Rainbow Six Siege 1TB - $399
  • Elite 1TB - $499 (note: $60 gift card, not $50)
  • Halo 5 Limited Edition 1TB - $499 (note: $60 gift card, not $50)

Amazon must have taken in way too many bundles for the holidays. I bet they won't do that again if they are having to sell them out this low to make space. It will be very telling if this doesn't boost numbers. But for both machines I can't see it lasting beyond April till we see a standard $50 cut.

With most of these being Amazon only deals, you wonder if it is some kind of loss leader promotion, due to how common threads like this are now, and how often Amazon sales are used on the likes of Gaf as talking points.

They're missing the obvious solution, give one away with every PS4.

Seriously though, it's time to stop fighting the price cut. Games are going to PC, Jan. numbers were low, stock is piling up. Pull the trigger.
