Forums - Gaming - Obscure: The Aftermath

I was looking around some gaming sites, and I came across a game called "Obscure: The Aftermath". There are lots of different trailers for the game, but I still can't really tell exactly what it will be like. It appears to be part survival-horror and part live-action movie. Here is it's Gametrailers page: http://www.gametrailers.com/game/5090.html

It's coming to the PS2, Wii and PC, and only goes for $29.99. I'm interested in buying it, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it. What do you guys think?

Nice trailer. Although I hope the actors are only for the trailer.
Rent it first. Looks good for PS2 graphics. :)

I think I'll waitt for the reviews. I am semi interested. Going by metacritic, if it's 80+ I'll get it for the wii, if it's below 60 I will not. Between, it's a probably not, but maybe later on sale/used.

Well it has a metacritic right now of 60 based on 12 reviews. I'd rent if I were you.

Ive only read 1 review and it said the game was terrible. Id definately rent it first.

I've only read about this game and saw a couple of in-game videos. It didn't get the most amazing reviews.

If I recall, the first one is about a high school where a group of kids are like trapped in with these weird creatures that are sensitive to light are being produced by some teacher or something like that. Each playable character has a certain special ability and you can play it co-op.

This might help

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

ioi + 1

The movie is part of the promoting the game is getting. It's not cut-scenes from the game itself.
The game is kind of a sequal, set a couple of years after and with some of the same characters (though you don't need the first obscure to get the stroyline) the first Obscure.
IT's a survival horror game that puts alot of emphasis on team work. You will always have to persons on screen and you can change between them and the other group of teenagers you are with. THey all have there special ability's which help with puzzlesolving.
It runs 60 fps but is in 480i though so that's a bummer.
Looking forward to the game myself and it's 30 bucks if i'm right. The soundtrack btw is killer you can check it out.
The gameplay itself doesn't seem to be real good (atleast from the reviews) but its one of the prettier games (on wii atleast) and can have some scare moments if you are in the mood.

Hmmm...  was thinking it wasn't out yet, but just checked metacritic...  They only have two reviews (a 70 and a 30).  Not sure why you would be seeing 12 reviews there???
