Forums - Gaming - EA: We want to regain the trust of PC gamers

Don't they attempt to regain the trust of a different demographic once per generation?

And then alienate the others all over again, it's a glorious cycle.

I'm just going to quote what malistix1985 said in the article here at Vgchartz: "Easy, put all your games on steam and remove Origin as a requirement, trust regained"

Remove all that crappy always online DRM in single-player games maybe? Thanks :)

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

EA Origin's customer service is way way way way way better than Valve's Steam customer service.

It took Steam 2 months to respond to a issue I had while for Origin it took me 30 minutes at the most.

I had a key issue for Crysis 1 that I got from Steam and I couldnt unlock the game on Origin using the same key (even though it worked for all other games) and the customer service rep gave me a new key to redeem on Origin along on top of that gave me a key to Crysis 3 :O

Anyways if EA wants to improve Origin's service here's a few things they can do....

1. Have them release their games and let it be redeemable on both Origin and Steam similar to how they used to do it and how Uplay does it now.

2. Release more third party titles such as from ubisoft, Squareenix, Capcom, Namco and etc. and give them a decent chunk that way Steam and Origin can compete against each other more.

3. Close down Bioware's own website/shop and have the bioware DLC be available directly through Origin rather than having to go through 3 different loops just to get a DLC that should automatically be included in a single download (like steam does when you download a game - you can choose whether to have the DLC be installed alongside with the base game or not).

4. Have frequent sales and improve the "on the house" promotion with a game each month ( can be just old retro classic titles that no one would buy nowadays).

5. Keep the customer service level as it is since its perfect imo.

Pretty much all that along with giving us more options for the client, Steam has it;s own community operated workshop which technically covers universal mod support, something I wish most other clients would support but Steam remains the only one to do so and EA/Origin could do with dipping their toes into those waters, it's not like we haven't modded some EA games before, I mod Red Alert 3 quite a bit and technically the community modded the previous C&C games with a 3rd party program that allows us all to connect with one another despite EA having killed their own servers years ago.

Oh and one last thing, for the love of all that is holy, bring back C&C and give us a new Sim city and Sims that isn't chopped to pieces, maybe a new burnout as well?. I'd love if they came back to officially support their older C&C titles and put the servers back up again even though some of us are content with the 3rd party method. Hell I'd love if they went back and remake or remaster some of the older C&C titles and slap them on Origin (steam as well).

EA have various ways to win us PC gamers back but they have to take suggestions, not force us with one or two options and thinking we'll all jump when they say, they need to give us reasons to support and buy from them and that means they need to cater to the crowd, EA Access is cool for some but it's not even remotely for me as I prefer buying my games and owning them, to me that's minus 1 incentive and I need something that would likewise pander to my tastes now that they have pandered to the same crowd they tested it on another system for.

Apart from that I dig their UI and their customer service along with their on the house program which we could do with seeing more older titles coming in at elast each month rather than 3 months.
