Let's talk about the mentioned floor and buliding textures. With technical standpoint you refer to pure resolution right? Because I don't see anything else "technical" on those. No bump/parallax/etc. mapping at all.
The floor texture, while it has OK resolution, has no variety at all. That doesn't reduces taxing on the system's texture units, but it does reduce it on the system memory. Apply the same criteria to the building texture, an OK texture applied, but not much more textures variety. Sonic himself is not shining on the texture department. Add that to the lack of anisotropic filtering. In the case of the "white town" pics, you see more variety, but here the white buildings pretty much lack texturing.
The best thing on those pics (and video) is the High Dynamic Range and the Depth of Field. We already have Wii games with both.
And, ok, I give, this game looks ok, probably better than Galaxy, but that still doesn't puts it out of question for the Wii. And I know Sega is stupid enough to just release this on PS3/360 despite how Sonic 2006 sold in comparison to Secret Rings.
