Okay kids, this thread is getting locked, but before it does: VGC only adjusts hardware for the official quarterly shipments. This is because in the past when we've adjusted hardware for NPD shipments have proven NPD wrong and we've had to adjust back. It's that simple. Hardware will not be adjusted for NPD.

You know all this complaints I would expect from fanboys or from someone with a hidden agenda.
VGC is within the 10% margin error, yet one side wants to claim victory over the other even in a statistical tie.
If you are simply here for the numbers, you wouldn't have anything to complain about.

 Well, I hope everyone in the bet is aware of that. If they do, then there won't be a problem. My suspection tells me otherwise.

 My agenda? Well, 2.

1. Of course, wanting more accurate data on a week to week basis, NPD's number is monthly only and that's way too much waiting time for my generation.

2. I was hoping to show a 'trend' in cosumer's purchases. I.E: "Since Blu-Ray won the format war, people have been buying more PS3 in US". And for last 2 months. the trend has been present and VGC failed to show it.  That's why I came to this website in the first place. Frankly, does it matter to me if PS3 overtracked/undertracked by 100k? Not really, but I would love to know any shift in consumer's desire for a console.

In another word, when GTAIV comes out, I would like to see a trend too.

1. Wanting more accurate data?
No one knows the REAL sellthrough numbers at this moment, there is no way of telling who is closer, but I believe both NPD and VGC are within the  error margins.
What if VGC believed you and change the ps3's number to be a higher than the Xbox360, only to find out later that NPD made a mistake about the ps3 beating the Xbox360 and recalculated their numbers. Do you want VGC to follow suit again?

2. A trend for what? A project or just a personal hobby?
There was a shift. The Ps3 was being trounced by the Xbox360 before,
now it's holding it own. There was a shift for consumer desire for a console, you don't have to beat the competition to prove that. If you need to, It wouldn't make any sense since the Wii is still leading.
