If you play it that way then sure it's a great game

Too bad Nintendo didn't give Camelot an extra 6 months or so to work on the game, sounds like it could have been really good if it wasn't rushed.

No, the game is not great and it's not groundbreaking, but it's quite fun, polished, with solid gameplay and surprisingly very good graphics. Its main problem is the lack of content and creativity. It's a 7 game to me.

Agree! Whats is there is top notch, just not enough of it. I got annoyed the other day because somebody said it was trash, its polished and hella lot of fun, trash it is not, just lacking content. If Nintendo did a Splatoon and rolled out some free content, it would elevate to a decent game.

Core gameplay was never Utra smashes problem, that would be terrible lack of content.
I honestly expected them to pull a second splatoon release scheme with this game, because it seems like it could be salvageable. Free updates over the next six months or so, culminatin in a big update with more modes might have even given the game better legs.

It's fun! In the old days games never had a lot of modes (if any at all) yet the games are still played and loved up to this day. However, if I see that even Mario Tennis 64 was already bigger, it's a bit embarassing. Obviously, the game had to be released in Nov 15 at all costs because Nintendo simply didn't had any new release for this important month. Well, they had Amiibo Festival but obviously, that alone was too less even for Nintendo.

Nobody said it wasn't fun. It's just lacks creativity and content...and soul.
