With all the NX guessing currently the only thing we talk about on these forums I was thinking about this the other day. What games really is in development by Nintendo studios or Nintendo involved? That we know of that is... or sort of.

The Legend of Zelda

Pikmin 4

StarFox - April

Retro Studios Game

Metroid Prime Federation Force

Twilight Princess HD - March 

Pokken Tournament - March

Hyrule Warriors Legends - March

What else is up? Most of those games are developed by Non EADs. There was talks about a Mario game being made at Tokyo EAD2 but not sure if it's confirmed or not but are there other talks?

Almost half of the games being worked on are Zeldas. And people think Mario is the one overused.

Also, Metroid Prime Federation Force. And Project Giand and Robot.

It's really hard to tell. Metroid Prime Federation, Project Robot and/or Guard (I expect one of them to get cancelled or merge with another game), and some form of Mario game (spinoff or mainline) are the ones we can be sure are being developed.



Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

In the last 3 years, more Zelda games have released than any other Nintendo franchise. Heck, I'll go as far to say Zelda has been the most "milked" franchise since 2013. More than Fifa, CoD, even FNAF. Granted, most releases were spinoffs and remakes/remasters, but it's been like what? 2 Zelda games per year?

Hmm, I'm still wondering about the current status of Federation Force.

We still haven't seen it since E3...

Well, if you list these external productions like Hyrule Warriors Legends and Pokken Tournament, then you also have to list Mario & Sonic Rio. Plus there's that new Mario vs DK game.

Hyrule Warrios and Pokken aren't developped by Nintendo nor even directed by them.

Pikmin 4 isn't really announced .....

The list is extremely thin...... Either Nintendo has hidden its future project either they are all working on the next console.

Just looking at the amount of Nintendo games this year. I think the NX will launch this year.

Pokkén is co developed by GameFreak and Bandai Namco so no Nintendo devs are currently occupied for that game, also I feel like Pikmin 4 has to be complete by now or at least really near to that state since Miyamoto's inteview took place in early 2015...
Answering your question: not many as far as we know, at least for Wii U and 3DS, Intelligent Systems has been done with FE Fates for a while, HAL Laboratory is probably finishing the final update for Smash (if it isn't already done). most if not all EAD teams minus the Zelda one are currently working on unkown projects...
