Forums - Nintendo Discussion - the Wii U is not getting replaced this year, guys

So has anyone convinced the other to change their stance yet?

Perhaps some Tekken Tag Tournament 2 would settle things.

The simple truth is that there are 2 major reasons they shouldn't port it to NX that noone can provide an answer to.

1:Drop in consumer confidence in Nintendo hardware.

2:NX owners will more than likely already be able to play Zelda U through backwards compatibility.

Why you pretend like TP dont exist, didnt port on Wii, didnt beine Wii launch title and having much bigger sales than GC version!?

1. Did, consumers confidence drop after TP being ported on Wii? Ofcourse not.

2. Did Wii owners were already able to play TP through BC? Yes, they were.

And again you just ignoring pure facts and still you don't have one single solid argument why Nintendo will not port Zelda U on NX, while is same time people provide multiple solid arguments why Nintendo will do that.

Also just look results of this Poll.

1. No confidence was dropped with TP which blows this out the water not to mention the game still releases on Wii U.

2. Wii had BC as well.

These two were answered long ago by numerous people here.

And yet whether or not Zelda U would be ported to NX has been brought up in several threads. Why is that? Because of TP, so yes consumer confidence has been effected.

I forget point:

3. Is Nintendo decision to port TP to Wii good decision!? Definitely, it was huge success in every possible way.

No, it's because Nintendo still did not confirmed Zelda U like NX game, thats why people still arguing, but if you look all facts its clear like day that Zelda U will be ported to NX.

The simple truth is that there are 2 major reasons they shouldn't port it to NX that noone can provide an answer to.

1:Drop in consumer confidence in Nintendo hardware.

2:NX owners will more than likely already be able to play Zelda U through backwards compatibility.

1) The only lack of confidence is in the wii u not future Nintendo hardware NX. In fact by making it for both instead of taking it to NX helps in confidence because there not screwing over the small wii u base. Tp proved that as the GameCube crowd didn't get screwed and Nintendo kept there promise, and thus we believe them that Zelda u will stay on wii u.

2)Wii was backwards compatible with GameCube and it didn't matter. If there's a new controller with new additions to play it will get people interested. If the new system is stronger there will be demand for the NX game in hopes it runs better or looks better.                                         I'm assuming you weren't there for wii launch there was more concern for enough copies of Zelda  tp then there was for the console in most lines. In my wait people were asking store clerks how many copies were in the back. Nintendo would be insane not to launch NX with Zelda u! And on topic of NX out this year I think it will. Just look at the beginning of this year instead of spacing games out there launching in bulk before e3. To sell more wii u before NX reveal for this year launch. In past years we had little to no support in the first half of the year. And now there's alot on the schedule with 2 in March alone. Nintendo always tries to save a big title for may and there's none this year. Nintendo isn't going to announce a boatload of new titles for the holidays unless it's for the nx. Announcing a couple is reasonable but to be this empty in the second half of the year is insane business wise because you want to build hype!

1: Showing people a game in hopes to get them interested in your hardware (what E3 is all about) then a year later letting them know they are getting an inferior version of a game is screwing them over.

2: If it does offer a different playstyle then it could be justified, but nothing shown in the patents hint at a different playstyle.

1) Its not inferior if gameplay  is the same. The NX title could just run with less load times and may look better. If you can't deal with that then you didn't want the wii u version anyways.
2)It may be a new controller but if its just faster load times and sharper graphics people will buy it. Just look at the many rereleased games on ps4 - last of us/ gow 3/ uncharted.

Wow, this thread looks like it will make it to 1000 posts easy. I'm not even going to attempt to read all the comments.  I'm thinking the NX console version isn't releasing till early-mid 2017.  They might drop the handheld version holiday of this year though.

Why is that? Because a vocal minority (the same handful of people everytime) doesn't seem to get that a cross-gen release of the next Zelda game is the best option from a business perspective and to offer that game to a bigger audience.

People who claim that they "love to give Nintendo their money"... but if Nintendo should dare to launch the home console successor after 4 years instead of the usual 5 years to strenghten their position against the competitors, they act like Nintendo killed their firstborn.

People that place the success of the Wii U console over the success of Nintendo as a whole.
