Pokemon is one of the biggest video game series of all time in terms of sales, I think the only series that has sold more than it is Mario. bear in mind that other parts of the Pokemon brand are extremely lucrative too, the cards, the toys, the show. 5 million is not a giant investment for the company

its a bit odd, yeah, because Super Bowl doesn't really ring 'Pokemon' to me but I'm not too surprised. again, its one of the largest game franchises. EVERY Pokemon game sells great

Very well of what you just said. As a Pokemon fan, I know Pokemon has power as a name. 5 Million is of course, nothing for the Pokemon Company. I just don't think the audience of the Super Bowl is the demographic of Pokemon. But it is good advertising. 111 Million people watched Super Bown 49 so I guess this will prove helpful to them.
