If there was only one console format that nobody owned and anybody could manufactor consoles for, this would only be more benificial to consumers, ie. everybody has access to every game. No Sony gamers, no Microsoft gamers. Just gamers. So Microsoft and Nintendo giving up and developing on Playstation is the best thing?
I'd agree that Nintendo going third party would be good but the market is big enough to support both the xbox and Playstation brands along with PC and mobile.
