It depends on the area.
Here Best Buy charges 12% sales tax, while Amazon doesn't tax customers. That 12% is a big difference (this is because it's in a higher tax shoping district) anywhere outside of that area has half the tax. I also don't need to pay extra as I already have Prime for numerous reasons. I've been burned by Best Buy in the past. Preorders shipped broken, and they gave me hell to return it. Numerous preorders not on time.
I have never had issue with Amazon's customer service.
This is a great alternative. The benefit between the services will depend completely on your area, and your experience with the companies.
