It's one high school. The PR value of this class for the school is incredible - they get international news coverage.
Also, if this teaches the kids that are sidelined from most social groups the value of teamwork and practice, that's great.
The PR isn't worth didly squat as it is a public school, like the vast majority of all Norwegian Schools. Trust me on this, I am from Norway.

All of the above. xD
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
There are already college scholarships in the US for this, but restricted only to LoL I believe.

Given it is possible to have a decent paying career as a pro-gamer I see no reason why it can't be part of a school elective programme alongside other sports. But what if someone wants to play Smite, or Rocket League or Smash or SF or Mortal Kombat, all of which have a pro scene?
I think it's great that someone can get a university education with a low or no debt on the back of being excellent at a video game. There is just as good reason for doing that as there is for getting a low debt university education through being good as football, or baseball or basketball or track

You're joshing right?, because when I see SCII esports I see these guys:

I suppose it's better to start kids off early by getting them into the groove of maintaining good APM =P.
I do feel playing some strat games could do good for the mind like puzzle solving has been for centuries.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

In that case, you seem to have way to many words to be able to write something down instead. :P

I didn't know that, and you posts makes a lot of sense.
Collin Cowherd is not going to like where all of this is going:
