Forums - Sony - More "evidence" that FFVII remake is coming to the ps3 eventually?

Watch them release FF7 on PSN. Metal Gear Solid is out already and since FF7 is a playstation title it makes more sense that way. I don't see them recreating Final Fantasy 7 for any platform.

If they remake FFVII then I hope they don't ruin it with voice acting :\

Isn't a ps3 release assumed based on the FFVII tech demos made for the ps3 in the past?

And don't most fans want a remake for a major graphical overhaul? Ps3 seems like the best platform to remake something from the ps1 era to me.

Going from ps1>DS/PSP makes little sense, and between the ps3 and Wii, the Wii would only make sense if they were focusing on control improvements moreso than graphics.

Imo, the ps3 is the most likely to get the port based on the tech demos and what the fanbase wants. After that would be the Wii, from a sales perspective, and because it's the second best avenue to provide the fanbase with what they want.

Actually it would be for money$$$$$$$$$$$ rather than graphics. They are trying to squeeze all they can out of old games. That isn't necessarily a bad thing either since you could use that money for new games.

Yeah, but the reason they sell so much is because the fanbase wants it. Would a remake sell as much as say Crisis Core if it looked barely better than the original, especially when the original could be bought and played on the PSP via the PSN?

I highly doubt it will ever show up on PSN.

Why?

The same reason FF1-6 aren't on the virtual console and Final Fantasy Tactics isn't a PSN download.

They can make a lot more money rereleasing it on a handheld with some halfass new features.

Who in their right mind would infer that an FF7 remake is coming... Based off that question?

Square has no interest in putting it on PSN, just as they are not using the virtual console.

What we know is that remakes are showing up like gangbusters on the DS, and spinoffs are hitting the PSPS. Either would be a big upgrade. Frankly a Gamecube version would have been gorgeous compared to the original. If you don't believe me go back and play I just finished beating it again. Now I am playing FF:CC Ring of Fates and the graphics blow it away.

They have one flagship title at a time, and for now that is FFXIII and nothing will be near it's equal this generation if square has anything to say about it.

I am guessing we will see it on the next generation handheld.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

*naznatips is exempt

This could mean anything. Remember Advent Children is still yet to be released on blu-ray.

I would rather see FF 6 on the wii than FF7, It was on nintendo console so it makes more sense.

? How does that got to do with anything. ALso I think they are already making ff6 for ds. I know ff5 is coming to ds this year. I don't think there will be a ff remake on the wii at all. I think the ds is where all of the remakes will go. It already has 2 and one is coming this year , and I think another one is announced.

Actually I think it is that Final Fantasy IV is coming to the DS this year, Final Fantasy V would come possibly next year in Japan as I doubt this year since FF IV came out on December 20th. I also believe Final Fantasy V was never confirmed.

I pray for a Final Fantasy VI remake more than any other game out there, but unfortunately there is no concrete evidence to say they are actually making one. Just running on hope here. So FF VI on the Wii could be possible and for a game and big and involved as that game was, I would love it on a home console.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
