Forums - Sony - Sony needs to make more games for the camera

I must say I have both the X1 and the PS4 and I use the camera more than my Kinect simply because of the playroom.  I figured these games arent that in depth and should cost that much money to make (just guessing).  Why wont they make more mini games for the camera use or come up with a seperate game catergory in the PS Store just to encourage camera mini game growth from 3rd party and indie Devs.  I think it would be a good idea and maybe spark more sales out of the PS Camera.

Not enough people would play these games. MS tried to focus around it and failed, Sony would have a similar result. If this would would, Kinect would have never been dropped.

I am all for getting more use out of my PS camera and Kinect, but I don't think it will ever be games at this point.

The camera thing has been done to death by now. I just don't see the point in trying to push it again. It's just not popular enough, and it probably never will be. Kinect was popular last gen, but look at where it is now. And the PS4 camera is nowhere near as robust as the X1's Kinect. It's not gonna happen.

It does and it should be marketed as a kids thing. Sony should throw some small resources into creating fun little cheap digital mini games that kids can play around with it. Sell them for like $4.99 on their store and put some advertising behind them. They'd make a killing.

I had a PS3 camera, and i literally used it to take my drivers license photo for Burnout Paradise, and that was it.

this is true, my 4 year old cant get enough of the Playroom games.  As a parent I would spend $5, $10 for more games like that

I'd say that is even being a little generous.

It was fairly popular when it first came out. Maybe only for the first year or so, though.

I mean they needed to support Move too. And then the Vita. And PlayStation Mobile. And soon PSVR. I can think of a couple more too. Sony's pretty well known for being fairly bad at dual-platform support. It's part of the reason I'll never invest in a secondary PlayStation device even if their primary devices are usually wonderful.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!
