I think that fold mark in the middle of the screen would'nt be very appealing.

I don't think a newer version would have the fold mark (it's already very subtle on that old prototype).

I've seen this video a few years ago and thought it would be perfect for a future nintendo handheld. It would allow a big screen while keeping the DS gameplay possibilities, BC with 3ds games and the clamshell design that makes the console more portable. Considering how old the video is, the technology is certainly afordable for a 2016 handheld and advanced enough that we won't even see the screen division. Your thoughts?

I don't know why you think it will be affordable? yet the video states its a prototype. Smart Phones are yet to have this technology.

It was a prototype from long ago. smart phones probably don't use this technology yet because they're generally too small to need it.

I don't think so... we don't see any folding screens even now, meaning that they are still too expensive to sell at a cheap price (~$200)

Plus, this would be a nightmare in terms of durability and repair costs for both Nintendo and the consumer..

According to the info I read, it takes 100k folds for the pixels in the fold area to loose just 3% of it's light (probably much better right now).. I don't see how it would be hell in terms of durability and repair. Shouldn't break any more than a ds or 3ds.

loved the idea.

but they should also include the option to turn the screen sideways. So, we could play as a big single screen or as double smaller screens(that also could simulate ds and 3ds working), also flipping the screen could be used as a gimmick, like folding the ds on some ds games (that nintendo loves).

Doesn't seem like it'd be as durable. With a 1 and a half year old, durability is my life. I had to vote no.

Let's hope so.
