So, new tech?

Yes, I want... 12 80.00%

Minidiscs for me 1 6.67%

Cloud is already on the Wii U 2 13.33%

Motion controls, touch screens and 3D without glases were one of the latest tech the company adopted. But, what's next?

Motion controls

Virtual Reality? 4K definition? Cloud gaming? Which one would you like Nintendo to adopt in the future?

Virtual Reality is a reality

As you must know, this year, 2016, Nintendo will announce its new platform codenamed NX. With this new platform(s), Nintendo will begin a new adventure into the future. But not exclusive to NX, what technological advances would you love to see them adopt?

I, for one, am intrigued to know more about those SCD (Supplementary Computing Device) that some releate to cloud gaming.

What about you?

PS: Virtual Boy is a failure and doesn't matter for the sake of the thread.

I think they are trying to do it, but they don't want the current tech because of what you mention.

I don't want Nintendo to try VR (again) because it's too expensive, too limited, not far enough technologically, too cumbersome and requires too much body movement to be used as a universal playstyle (one of the bigger reasons why I think the wiimote never caught on as an industry standard).   I can see myself using it and being entertained by it for a couple of hours but once the novelty wears off, I'd probably get tired of constantly moving my head around and just stick to just playing in front of a tv screen.

I like the direction they are heading with a unified account system, so hopefully, this will mean that games are tied to your account rather than the system, which is way better than what it is now..
Cloud saves and gaming is a really good thing so you can restore saves and stuff if something randomly goes wrong too

Being able to screenshot at anytime is something I would really like to see in future systems.. There are countless number of times I would like to screenshot something, but the game doesn't have screenshot capabilities so that is really disappointing.

Being able to upload videos sort of like Mario Kart 8 and Smash U would be a nice addition

Future systems need more power :p

If the NX is not a fusion system, I would like for the handheld and the console to be more interconnected, not in terms of running the same games and cross platform multiplayer, but have added functionality and benefits for owning both system. Transferring saves between MH3U 3DS to Wii U as well as using the 3DS as a controller in Smash U are sort of examples of what I'm thinking about. The Wii U and the 3DS are 2 separate systems and barely interact with each other which is a bit disappointing, but then again, it's not a needed priority

Currently, I don't really see the need to jump aboard the VR train just yet, as I don't think it will be very popular, especially this day and age.. I can definitely see it becoming really popular in the future, but not right now..

4D gaming.

It'll help you feel everything- from being punched in Street Fighter to falling off a cliff in Mario Kart, the possibilities are endless.

Now that is interesting! Never read about it:

"Using a tracking system, the hypothetical device determines the position of the player or where the player is looking, and determines the player's viewpoint. This would produce a parallax effect, where images in the foreground move faster and further than images in the background. This creates a sense of depth. A similar system is in place on iOS devices, where the background shifts at a different rate than the foreground elements when the device is moved."
