Of Course not, just they usually using art styles for their game that doesn't requires strong hardware in order to look beautiful. Imagine what they will achieve with much stronger hardware than Wii U, even strong like X1.

Nintendo games are pushing the graphics of their own consoles. I can imagine what they will do with much stronger hardware but x1 or ps4 power wouldn't be much stronger.
|
How so? X1 is around 4x stronger than Wii U, PS4 is around 6x time stronger.
|
Official specs were never given but it's obvious the difference is not that big.

There is no need for official specs when people tear apart Wii U and identify specs itself.
-PS4 and X1 have 8GB of RAM where devolpers can use 5-6GB RAM. Wii U has 2GB of RAM which is slower than those at X1 and where develpers can use 1GB of RAM.
-PS4 and X1 have AMD x86 8-core CPU that runs on 1.6/1.7GHz. Wii U has Tri-Core PowerPC CPU that runs on 1GHz, basicly improved Wii CPU.
-PS4 and X1 have GPU with 1.84/1.31 TeraFLOPS/s. Wii U has GPU with 0.352 TeraFLOPS/s (maybe even 0.176 TeraFLOPS/s.).
Actually Wii U hardware is around 4-5x weaker than X1, add that gamepad is also using some of that power.
