They ARE the recommended specs (just look in the Oculus blog). Nvidia only calls them minimum specs to sell more GTX970 / GTX980 and GTX980 ti ;)

Why the neglect to chuck in the price of a PC let alone the gold plated version?.

At first I thought this thread was going to be enws but seeing the op I kinda guessed we're going into ye old Vs town where only one is a clear winner and the other is just junk.

Also with my contract in retail I don't work a lot (which is why I work with my stepdad, effectively juggling two jobs) and still get paid £8.35 an hr and yet I'm able to save for upgrades while still paying the bills, saving is something anyone can do as long as they actually enforce a form of monetary control.

As for the min specs my 980 should be more than fine, only desirable upgrade I'm wanting to make over the year is grabbing a new CPU since I already have a good enough system and 16gb ram, might even SLI this year or the next and yet I'm not some insanely rich guy either.

this product is "3DHead" and is essentially a 3D autostereoscopic (like the 3DS) tablet which can be clipped into that humongous helmet to make it an HMD

it's been pushed to last CES by greek billionaire heir Alki David and is a total joke compared to actual VR devices, even google cardboard can produce better results depending on the phone you use
