Hey, I don't recall saying it in that order. But, based on the summary of the last wiik from IGN, RE5 wii is completely not going to happen. :(
oh well. Next time.

Redoing a game like RE4 on the PS3/360 is incomparable to redoing it on the Wii. One involves redoing every texture in the game and likely changing some of the gameplay whereas the other simply involves redoing the controls and minor code readjustments.
COD 5 will be garbage just like COD 3 because it is going back to World War 2, because it is being done by a different developer, and because it will have poor quality all around because of Treyarch (or Activision's) decision to go with 5 platforms.
And Big Jon, if your theory is so airtight, then why the hell did Call of Duty 3 sell so poorly, not only on the Wii, but on every platform?
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. There is a reason why COD 4 was the best selling of the entire franchise and it might have had something to do with how high the QUALITY of the game was, something that would have suffered if they would have had to spend their time dealing with the Wii's hardware limitations and the burden of developing on a 4th platform. I hate to break all you Wii people's bubble, but porting a PS3/360 game to the Wii is not always possible, and can often severely reduce the game's quality overall. |
They could solve this by putting more people on each team... As well as COD4 has been selling I am sure they are more will to put more dev cost into it. Also if they use a control scheme similiar to MoHH2 it will be very fun on the Wii. No it is not always possible, and I think a game LIKE RE5 would fall under that cat.
You are probably right about RE5, but your general logic PO'ed me a bit. They should at least build a Wii Version from the ground up. It would surely sell MILLIONS. Maybe Resident Evil 4- Part 2 or something like that.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
i've said it a million times before. But a game like RE5 deserves to be on Wii and a HD Console.
Purely for two reasons
1) Wii Controls
2) HD Console graphics for atmosphere.
I would buy both since I love the series. But that is just me.

That's exactly what third-parties should be doing. Take full advantage of the Wii and create something fresh and interesting, not just ports with some Wiimote functionality thrown in just because it's there. |
I agree.

I am not bashing the Wii, but there is a lot more the "HD" consoles can do than pretty graphics. They have more onboard RAM for storing all kinds of information like large environments and can do much more complicated physics because of their large amount of processing power. The Wii offers a very unique experience, so I don't know why all of you are clamoring for the same experience gamers get on the other consoles. If you want a game that badly, buy another console.

I hope it will come to the Wii, but doubt it.
Here is a link to the petition for it:

closing in on 38,000 signitures.
To all those who say the Wii should be getting fresh and new titles. RE5 is fresh and new, and you can worry about RE6 or RE2 remakes after the Wii gets RE5.
Assassin's Creed, COD5 and GTA IV are not made by Capcom and are all Western Games where as Capcom is an Eastern developer, so these examples should really be of no interest to them. DMC4 is though, and considering its barely outdone what any of its predicessors had on just one console, it may not be the most encouraging indicator.
