Forums - Gaming - What if all the Destiny Promo from Sony was payment for Crash?

I'm 100% certain crash is coming back. If you look at one of the very first adverts that was released by Sony for the PS4, where the world starts to get overrun by characters from video games etc, it even had Ryu in it. At the time we didn't know what that meant, but now we know it was probably taking about SFV. Towards the end of the advert it hints at Crash Bandicoot at (around 1:47). Keep an eye out on the far right it, it's the pole with road signs.

Around the Network

Not a terrible theory.

This is the closest I've seen Sony and Activision in years. BTW I called this long ago if anyone cares...

I also called that Sony's decision to let Marvel use Spider-man in the Avengers Universe, combined with the relatively new exclusivity deal with Capcom, will lead to Sony's direct involvement in the development of a game called Avengers vs Street Fighter, which will be a prelude for the next installment of Marvel vs Capcom to be released in 2018.

I'm %80 sure that the Crash Bandicoot reboot will be announced in this year's E3 and %50 sure that we will see the first footage of Marvel V Capcom IV in 2017.

Few will care about a new Crash unless it returns to the original publisher -- Sony -- this time without Universal/Activision ownership.

Usually things don't work out that way.

And Sony pays for the right to market Destiny exclusively. So they would need to pay additional money to buy crash. So it will be a separate deal.

I think a marketing deal isn't like that. Don't think Activision is in the position to ask Sony to pay them for advertising rights while Sony spends another money to advertise the heck out of The Taken King.If anything Bungie needed Sony to increase their mindshare on them considering they didn't have a fanbase in there last gen. I think at that point Sony has the upperhand.

I could see what you're saying if it was Star Wars Battlefront though just not with Taken King. IMO EA has the upperhand on this deal because of the IP and its Film counterpart.

These deals definetly dont work like that, most likely nobody is paying anybody, Sony is providing free marketting for Destiny and in turn this makes it seen like PS4 is the only place to play this game, both sides win.
