Like they didn't spend any dime. Lol
Maybe that's the reason why Sony's bound by contract to promote Destiny for like two years already at their events haha.

I'm pretty sure sony had to pay activision to market destiny in the way they did, not the other way round...

Almost three years is too long for a marketing deal. I think.

That makes no sense. Microsoft had a marketing deal with the Call Of Duty franchise for about 6 years. That covered aspects such as Game releases, DLC and general events & promo. Some marketing deals last for a single release, such as Xbox's deal with Assassins creed franchise only lasting through unity.
Usually things don't work out that way.
And Sony pays for the right to market Destiny exclusively. So they would need to pay additional money to buy crash. So it will be a separate deal.
PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One
What if Crash is just dead? There is no underlying reason for Sony marketing Destiny; Activision sides with the winner of public opinion, and Destiny is their* big AAA franchise now. Simple as that. Let's not make Crash the new illuminati theories here - Crash doesn't exist anymore as a game franchise, and even if it did all of the Crash fans out there would hate it anyway.
*Bungie owns the franchise.
You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt! I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading. After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!
Wait, lets all be excited by another Crash developed by an obscure studio and published by Activision. What could go wrong?
*looks at tony hawk 5*

I think a marketing deal isn't like that. Don't think Activision is in the position to ask Sony to pay them for advertising rights while Sony spends another money to advertise the heck out of The Taken King.If anything Bungie needed Sony to increase their mindshare on them considering they didn't have a fanbase in there last gen. I think at that point Sony has the upperhand.
I could see what you're saying if it was Star Wars Battlefront though just not with Taken King. IMO EA has the upperhand on this deal because of the IP and its Film counterpart.

Well it didn't work that way, basically what activision did was making a tony hawk game to get some extra income before the contract for the name was finished.
