Forums - Nintendo - Your controller of choice for SSBB (plus which have you tried)

Let me start by saying the SSBB is my first SSB purchase and the first time I have ever played the series.  I have been overwhelmed and blown away all at the same time with this game.  There is a lot of talk about the GC controller being the best method to play with so I thought I would see what you guys think.  I have tried all 4 (GC, Wiimote and Nunchuck, Classic, and Wiimote sideways).  Right now, I am leaning toward the Wiimote sideways because I like the way it feels.  I like the GC better than the Classic but they are both OK.  I tried the Wiimote and Nunchuck 1 time and did not like it at all.  So where do you guys stand on this on.  What have you tried, and what do you like or dislike and what is your choice?

Although I haven't got it yet (Europe) I imagine I will be buying a classic controller to share between this game and any VC games that need more than the Wiimotes buttons.

I haven't played a smash game before so I have no ties to the GC controller, but also I don't like having to open the top of the Wii for GC controllers all the time, so I am trying to make it so I only need them for GC games.

GameCube controller all day. That's the only controller I have ever tried.

I've only tried the Classic Remote. I don't care about having a GC controller, and I don't feel like pulling the Wii out so the GC controller reaches the couch.

Wiimote sideways makes you use up to jump, so I won't use that. I'll probably try Wiimote + Nunchuk this sunday when I have a bunch of friends to play with, because some of them may need to play with the Classic and GC controller I have.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Same here.

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

All of them... at the same time.

Wii-mote and Nunchuk

Onimusha12 - what do like about that combo? It was kind of weird for me.

I personally like the Wiimote and Nunchuk too. I haven't tried anything else, but I don't even care to. I really like the control, and I like having my hands and arms free to move as I wish while I sit down and relax to play. Rather than having them stuck together.

I've tried both Classic Controller and GameCube controller, and prefer the Classic. Mostly because I cannot stand the position of the Z button on the GameCube controller.
