| padib said: The thing is, Luke's pretty much seen it all when it comes to the dark side. His own father was trying to kill him. The other thing is that the way it was said makes it pretty clear they were talking about Kylo Ren when talking about the youth being trained and ruining everything. Leah also explain that, because he had so much Anakin in him, was why she wanted him trained in the light so much. Then, Kylo choosing to kill Han was evil. With that kind of evil I was expecting a much stronger force. I agree though with a lot of the rest of what you're saying. |
What you are saying is very possible, I am not a 100 percent sure that what I said is how things were or will be explained, but I am under the impression that the apprentice who betrayed Luke wasn't directly mentioned and that we may still need to find out the particulars of that Master-apprentice betrayal.
It is possible that the apprentice was Kylo. Maybe it was Snoke. Maybe the betrayal was done by Snoke and maybe he added insult to injury by taking young and confused kid with him who happens to Luke's nephew.
I don't know, but I feel like the writers have portrayed Kylo as a confused character in a personal quest and that the betrayal that was done to Luke was very decisive. I can picture Kylo Ren being unstable and maybe running away, but not of orchestrating a betrayal.
Snoke has been vaguely presented in the first film. I bet he will be shown more in the next films. His role, history and how he came to reach Kylo have yet to be explained either.
I am not saying you are wrong or that I am right. I bet the next films will make things clearer. Soon I plan on watching the film again and I will pay extreme attention to those details and see if I find some info that could make things clearer. :)
