People who already have a Wii or Wii U wont buy another console to buy that game. They would have bought just the game itself. People who only buys those bundles are the ones who does not have the console already.

Did you know Wii Sports for the Wii wasn't bundled in Japan? It's one of the bunch, but it shows that it can sell by itself without being bundled.

I think i saw a thread that showed the NES had the most million sellers, although vgchartz always said PS1 did. I dunno probably can't find the thread anymore. The peak seems to be the PS1 gen though because if you combine the PS1/N64/Sat the software sales it dominates any other gen.

People were not sheep back then, so lots off people played a wide spectrum of games. Now the majority (in fact I'd say the vast majority) have tunnel vision and only play COD,FIFA and GTA. I know people who will buy a PS4 just for the current FIFA and never buy any games except fifa after fifa. Then if a big hyped game like black ops 3 comes out they may buy that.

This is the majority off console buyers these days imo.
