Im sorry for M$... seems like their money didint bought them much exclusive time...

Its apparently bought them a year exclusive time on the only platform MS cares about keeping it off of.

One of the most puzzling double standards is how when MS has a game go PC its the end of the world but when you have a situation like SFV its almost like its seen as a good thing that Sony is allowing PC users to play too LOL.

Square apparently had to make concessions in the exclusive time period just to be able to announce the PC and PS4 versions. I doubt MS would allow an earlier PS4 version without more substantial benefits kicked back.

Sure, but what good is exclusivity if it doesn't lead to anything? There is no benefit to exclusivity unless it leads to a measurable increase in hardware sales. What was MS's main mistake was releasing on 360 in 2015. MS's main targets with this exclusivity are 7th gen gamers who are thinking about getting into the 8th gen. 360 owners are the most likely to go for Xb one but a lot of them are also switching to PS4. If they are well disposed to games like Tomb Raider and Uncharted then they would be leaning towards PS4 more than the Halo/Gears fans. So by putting Tomb Raider on 360 you actually end up incentivising fans of this genre to go for PS4, because they can play Tomb Raider on last gen and then buy PS4 when Uncharted comes out. PS3 owners OTOH may be tempted into xb one as they have no platform capable of playing Tomb Raider, but as there is considerable cross over of Tomb Raider fans and Uncharted fans is xbox exclusivity for a year enough when Uncharted is just around the corner?

It seems to me that this exclusivity deal was poorly thought out in terms of strategic benefits to MS, as there never seemed to be much in it for them.

The lessons we're likely to learn from SFV are that 1 letting a game go to PC doesn't matter too much, and it is better to take exclusivity on a franchise that is more popular on your platform. Fall Out 4 was the game MS should have taken console exclusive. It was far more popular on Xb 360 than ps3 and wasn't so big as to be way to expensive to keep off Ps4 for a year.

Fallout 4 probably wouldve cost more

xbox one version or xbx360 ???????????

Hmm not sure, was just expecting early 2016 doesn't feel like a big difference if it was released in february instead of January.

What I expected. The "company exclusivity" or whatever it's called was only needed for holiday 2015, making January fair game.

The situation isn't the same mr victim.

Well duh, if the situations were perceived to be the same then thered be no double standard, silly goose.

As for the victim part, as the "LOL" suggests, i think its funny. I own both consoles and a good gaming PC, i can play the game anywhere. No victim here, hope that helps.

Well the thing is I dont like SFV, so what Sony makes with it, its of not concern to me, but RotTB I do like it, and I had to buy it for Xbone instead of PS4 to play it now. So IF and only IF the game releases sooner on PS4 I will be dissapointed that i bought it on Xbone... I have a good PC for games (SLI with 2 GTX980s), but still prefer to play it on PS4...

wow they werent kidding when they said exclusive for "holiday 2015". as soon as that period is done they are releasing it on PC.

im expecting PS4 version to release during August.

Doubt it.

Probably won't be picking this up until after UC 4, but great to see it's coming earlier than expected.

The deal was always only for the Holidays only on XBox, anyone thinking that MS got the rights to control the franchise or even just this release for any length of time is sorely mistaken, that makes no sense when Square Enix are the ones that paid out for the franchise ages ago from Eidos.

The deal may have barred SE from putting it on other platforms for X amount of time, but likely under the proviso that a certain amount of sales were met for the game on the platforms it was exclusive on.
The previous comments about it coming in Early 2016 likely refers to 2016 financial year, not calendar, so this is earlier than expected.

I doubt we'll be waiting until Fall 2016 for this to come to PS4, more likely a month or 2 after Uncharted 4 releases, or before Horizon, because those 2 games are the competition for RTR on PS4.
The longer that SE waits to release it, the fewer sales it will get because there's a lot more fresh and unique games that will stand out from TR.
