Forums - Sony - Uncharted 4 delayed until April 26th (NA), April 27th (EU), April 29th (UK)

Naughty Dog has always had very high standards for polish. I'd rather see it pushed back so they can make this game work perfectly upon release.

I have to admit, I'm loaded with new games that I haven't touched but come on Sony, released that game already. I hope this is the last delay.

Some console owners are willing to wait 8 months so I'm not too bothered about waiting 1 month ...

j/k

I will. Hopefully you will too

Let's face it though, doesn't make much of a difference. Every game in 2016 except huge multiplats and U4 is going to flop, schedule doesn't make a difference

It'll be the year of great games and many flops.

This has been a yearly trend (look at the lower barrier to enter NPD top 10 for instance, and the gap between that and the top places) and will keep getting worse

Of course. I've been waiting for it since the moment they teased it and it looks to be the best in the series. But without a real push (and Sony's been known to halfheartedly push anything that  isn't a ND and SMS project if at all), the movie is one of the last hopes for a franchise that very well should be Sony's Mario by this point.

Of course they choose to release this right on top of an already pretty stacked April. Something tells me Ratchet's the one getting screwed in all this now, since nobody is going to pick Ratchet over Uncharted unless the movie absolutely takes off. Shame that yet again they choose to throw an Insomniac game out to die next to an Uncharted launch, since that's what helped kill ACiT.

But I sort of expected this. Druckmann and Straley aren't that good at scheduling. Still hoping they do the series justice and that their takeover of ND was for better and not worse. Either way I've got Libertalia edition preordeded

Greatest advantage of being IP of an First party is that they can push the game all year around and continue to sell.

I'm not expecting Nintendo game level life span, but it should last at least 6 month.

If not for games like The Order hitting bargain bin very shortly after launch I'd agree with you. Sony is a different beast this gen even compared to last gen, and they were terrible with the sub-AAA franchises last gen.

I hope I'm wrong but I see this going the same way as Resistance 3, where it gets overcrowded and screwed despite being an excellent game.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Ugh, Naughty. You're really like copying GTA V PC release delays don't ya.

The Order wasn't a good game, from unestablished franchise. Rachet and Clank usually had consistent quality and it is well known and established franchise.

And at worst case, Sony will promote it again during Q4, which should carry most of the sales.

As long as there's no day 1 5GB patch. Then again I think I'd prefer an earlier release with a day 1 patch. Still I have plenty to play over the next 4 months so I won't be sitting around wondering what to do.

It's not like it was delayed by 3 months like certain other games.

I'm still holding out hope for a 60fps campaign!

That's not going to happen. Six months ago they already confirmed that the singleplayer campaign will run at 30 fps so they can go all out with visual fidelity.

I'm clinging to the fact that:

-All their PS4 remasters are 60fps, and have had overwhelmingly positive feedback how the fps improves them.

-The original PS4 UC4 reveal in-game footage was 60fps.

-ND said last year something along the lines of, 'it's hard to go back to 30fps now".

-Multiplayer Beta was running locked 60, so clearly not CPU-limited?

Even though there's just as much evidence saying it won't, you know, like them saying themselves that it won't be :(

I just think that it's feasible, that's all.
